What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

The Great UNFRAMING continues.....

I added a "harness" bar to my Poison Spyder C-Pillars and then remounted my Rugged Ridge cargo basket to it. The way they have it go in works fine except it was too low to fit any of my coolers underneath. Now its high enough for my cooler to sit ontop of my folding camp table.

It still hinges, but down now, so that I can get better access to the stuff on the rack. I've got some more work to do on it later but I am done for now. Eventually I'll add some gussets to the mounts and put the small gas struts back on it to help me lift it back into place with all my tools and recovery gear in it.

How it all fits with the seats

I can still fit the high lift on the rack too, although I do have to take the foot off. Once the hard top comes off in the summer I can leave the foot plate on it.

Been kinda busy lately.
Brother got some new XD wheels for his wk. had to modify spare bracket to fit the new rims.
Also installed a block heater for him since its been balls cold up in Montana. And some new shocks and struts. Just factory stuff nothing fancy.

Put some jadfab les lights for backup light on dads f150.

Now to get the dent in my rear door fixed since it apparently got hit. And then try and schedule install for my remote start hopefully once I'm back from Vegas this weekend.

Last week I completed one of the easiest Jeep mods ever; sold my LJ. It was fun while it lasted.

Now the fun part, shopping for my new truck.

Diesel Titan? :D

Those are all fine guesses. No JK, although I still have use of my daughters 2013 2 door JK (she just won't let me take it offroad, but now days that is more my style). I thought I wanted the Ram 1500 Ecodiesel until I drove one. Don't get me wrong, it was a freakin' awesome truck! It is way too big for my needs as I don't haul stuff or tow anything at this point. I also drove the Ford F150, it too was very nice. As was the Chevy Silverado but they all are too big and I can't justify spending $40k - $50k on a vehicle and not parking it in the garage. What to do? Then my boy-genius told me to check out the mid sized Chevy Colorado or the GMC Canyon.

Right now the Canyon with the All Terrain package (Z71 suspension) is at the top of the list.

Well wait until the diesel version of the Colorado comes out, that would be a great truck and probably get some killer fuel mileage.

If its any consolation to you I'm getting a truck too, although I'm not getting rid of the JK. Its just getting retired from DD duty and being made my garage queen.

Now that the holidays are over, the supercharged mess has moved from the side yard storage into the garage. Time to get that thing fixed up right and take it out for real. It's not my DD anymore..
