What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

So just as a cautionary word of advice I learned the hard way.

If you ever lose your parking lights and dashlights, but your headlamps, directionals, and tail lights work; make sure that the parking light sockets aren't faulty. :wierd:

About 10 hours later, a purchsed FSM, and tearing into my wiring harness - turns out the driver's side parking light socket controlled the whole circuit. I was chasing a bad ground, however the culprit was just too obvious.

I feel like such a dumb ass.

been doing some reading up on my stuttering issue. seems it may be the cam position sensor in the distributor.
anyone have this be the cause of stuttering before and it cured it? i guess i ll have to try it and a few other things. need to check fuel pressure and CPS as well i think.i also need to get a new vacuum canister the one under my non existent bumper got destroyed.

I don't remember hearing your Jeep stutter.

The only thing close to a stutter on my Jeep was due to a bad TPS.

I could have saved you that money. Now I feel like a dumbass!

yeah mine cant hold steady like at highway speeds. cuts out/sputters/stutters . with a load on it while accelerating , not too bad. very light throttle ,so light you start slowing down, it does ok.
maybe i should do the tps just for the peace of mind of KNOWING that is a fresh one.
i ll look again for vacuum leaks too. loose junk as well.

i am happy with how it is running so far, it gets better each time i do a round of small repairs..
next for wiring is the green wire off the distributor where it splices together. it is corroded and looking sad as can be.
:guitar:

So you have no vacuum canister? I presume that the vacuum line to it was tied off? I guess you like only having defrost.

Well, I removed stock coil spacer and added a 1.75 spacer to give just a little more lift in front and in the rear found a add a leaf, which didn't have a lot of bend but was exact size needed and that gave me a inch also in the rear.

Painted some white spoke wheels black and 31 tires come off tomorrow and putting on new set of BFG mud terrain km5 tires

Bwuhaha.......Shutty :gee:
Hey Friend, just wanna say thanks for snagging the carpet i was totally eying to snag today, and then forgetting your tools at the junkyard after doing so. That 98 that i found because of you netted me a plethora of grade A parts to include a set of matching fenders and hood for the 97 i'm building but also all the parts for my tilt column/ cruise control swap, oh and did i mention carpet that was in way better shape than the one you got? Yep thats right! Thanks again buddy.:farmer:

No way...that carpet I pulled out was damn near perfect...ya know...aside from the blood and semen.

:puke:

Garage cleaned up. (I know......, right?)
Front bumper off and partially cut-up. (rebuilding to match the current design on my site).

Front axle is out and waiting for a few mods...and a fresh coat of rattle can.

Large bag of kitty-litter on hand in case I decide to spill ATF all over....again.

I'll start on the crossmember and tranny this week as I get time.

Not in a huge rush since most of the trails I want to run this year are still snowed in.

Finally got the alignment taken care of and the brakes fully bled after the Liberty rear disc and WJ front knuckle swap. With the 4.56's still in the rear axle (no front drive shaft) I can put the t-case into low range and the brakes hold up to 1800 rpm. Now its time to start installing the 4.88's.

Got new meats today.

Discount Tire in Castle Rock sold me 4-35x12.5x15 MTRs for $185.00/each mounted. If you're looking to buy tires soon go talk to Jeremy, he's the manager. They beat everyone else by at least $300-400.

Definitely a killer deal Jim!

Heh heh..... if you jeep was yellow....... it'd look an awful lot like my old Heep II - particularly because of the winch bumper.....

I was going to ask him how many folks could sit comfortably at that "bar"... :D

The answer is 42
