What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

I agree. I abused the hell out of my 27 spline on 33s and it did great.

I would probably convert if you lock it though, a pair of used 29 spline shafts is like 50 bucks. Better to get a 29 spline locker and shafts for another 50 than decide you need it later and end up buying new shafts for 50 *and* a new locker, IMO.

Well I'm down to 6.5" front and back and I'm totally happy with it. All I did was removed a couple leafs from the leaf packs and removed coil spacers up front. Its not too tall or too low... just right. The only thing ill do is add 35's later down the road once I've had my fun with the 33's. :skull1:

My god... Just pulled this 25lb monstrosity off of XJ_99's '91....

Ever see a Bendix-9 ABS system? Used from 87-91. It has the master cylinder with no standard booster, and this electric run hydraulic pump... the pump is over underneath where the coolant overflow is on a Renix 4.0, with a high pressure line that runs over to the master cylinder. From what I read, apparently the line is at (get this) 270psi full of brake fluid until you pump the brakes with the jeep shut off 50 times... On the pic, those 3 unhooked lines at the bottom of the assembly is where the left and right front and rear lines hook up...

Here is another view of the master/ABS death trap...

That thing is beastly!!

it was originally designed to stop the space shuttle, unless the pilot got unlucky, in which case he'd fly off the end of the runway and explode in a massive fireball because the damn ABS reserve pump burned out again.

The Currie went in yesterdy (12-6) thanks to Joe94xj. This leaves only the ARB for the front to go in to finish the driveline.

Next up, a Currie anti-rock and the suspension will finally be finished.

Keep us updated on that, I've actually been considering it for my YJ. The stock XJ springs are really soft and it has a good amount of body roll I wouldn't mind losing. Its stable on the rocks but making turns at speed is a bit disconcerting due to the lean.

the anti rock made a world of differance on truggy before I ripped the axles back out.

Yesterday I installed the rear exhaust pipe, had to fab up a hanger for it cause it didn't line up with the original hanger. Turned out well and sounds good and throaty also. Today I removed the 2nd leaf under the main of my Alcan packs because they are just too damn stiff with it in. The packs originally had 6 leafs in them, been swapping them around trying to find the right combo and succeeded with removing 2nd and 4th leafs and installed my shackle relocation bracket. Now its rides so much better!!! A little creaky but nothin a lil lube won't fix!:spin1: Then I re-installed the rear bumper, the cowl, and windshield wipers...thus completing my cherokee!!!:guitar:....for now...but I do still need a longer drive shaft for the rear. The XJ front one I installed is maxed out pretty much. Looks like a salvage yard run will be in effect.:shhh:

creaks just mean things are still attached. If it stops creaking you should worry and check your rear view mirror.
