but how does that product do that? Where would it mount? To modify it might be more work than just making your own. :dunno:i always do/make things to spread the load--a sound practice on frames and stuff like that. makes your stuff last longer![]()

Yeah, this link labels the fuse to the accessory delay relay as "Sunroof."

Good news is that the alternator swap on a WJ 4.7 is absolutely, without a doubt, the easiest alternator replacement, EVAR! 20 minutes, tops.
The bad news is that yes, that is the wiring diagram I used, yes, that is the relay that controls the sunroof, and NO, mine isn't bad. :helpme: I swapped it out with several known goods, with no effect. I checked the rails for obstructions, found none, and lubricated them with some spray graphite -- no change.
Anyone have any ideas on how to manually get this bad boy to shut? If I can get it shut and sealed, I'll leave it until I have the time and motivation to pull the headliner and replace the motor/whole unit/whatever... :twak:
I replaced the relay with known goods -- no difference.
No more opening sunroof for me until I have the time and inclination to fix it all.
Is it up on top like the 5.2/5.9? Those are my favorite, takes so little time. Especially the later ones with the plug instead of the goofy shaped 4-stud field coil connection setup.Good news is that the alternator swap on a WJ 4.7 is absolutely, without a doubt, the easiest alternator replacement, EVAR! 20 minutes, tops.
