Went to Slick Rock, a few pictures v.not56kfriendly

So I went up to visit my Grandpa. My dad (TJ) decided to hit up slick rock. We started on the Alpine Lake side, and got all the way through to find the gate locked. Only pictures going towards the gate, not coming back.

that looks like gate at the access road that goes to the right of the trail that takes you through that little lake(when its low) and by that damn? the trail actually goes straight or a little left even up those nasty stair steps when this little dirt road goes to the right i believe? i watched jeeps come out from the trail( which is behind that big rock in the pic) from that gate before with a stock pathfinder a few years ago cuz we couldnt get up those stair steps and decided to take that access road and ended up doin it anyway
by the way we've been gong to "slick rock" for 30 years, but we used to call it hells kitchen and took old lifted blazers way before they ever built that stupid gravel access parking lot thing for cyclist at the south end ....

Whoa. There's a sprinkle of snow in the Sierra's.
Damn I miss those mountains. North Coast is alright though.
I've ran that trail in my old '96 XJ STOCK! Fun times. I wish I had armor on that run.
I hit it again in my 2000 with 33's no problem.

I have been tossing around the idea but with the holidays, and other madness, comming I may have to wait till spring.

Nice Pics though, I have never been but Slick Rock, Deer Valley and Strawberry are high on my list.

but i rarely have other rigs to go with so i usually end up waiting til spring cuz i dont wanna get stuck out there all by myself when i breakdown
