Well, the day didn't go as planned....

You nailed it. Funny how the oil pump worked fine and then it just quit.

Mark stopped by this morning and we got a few little things done. We installed the front sway bar, tightened up the steering stabilizer, installed new rear bushings in some Rubicon Express shackles, put in a different passenger side rear spring, new u-bolts and spring plates along with redirecting the exhaust.

Here is a picture of the XJ after being taken for it's first test drive since entering the shop months ago (September).

It seemed to drive just fine. We installed a stock oil sending unit and once up to operating temp at idle, the pressure comes down a bit. It still reads high but I'm not going to sweat it at this point.

I just went back and was looking at the first page to see when this thread was started and notices that almost none of the pictures are there anymore. I linked them from FB and the images are still on FB. I wonder why they no longer appear?

Lets just throw Brian's engine in yours after we swap his stuff!

I went out for a little while this morning and installed a new u-joint in my front driveshaft and got it installed in the XJ. I also changed the oil and filter with fresh stuff now that I had oil pressure.

I fired it up and let it idle for a bit. It sounds quieter than it used to and the oil pressure looked good and consistent. Now to drive it some so I can feel comfortable.

Also I have started disassembling and checking over a Renix 4.0L engine to rebuild. Starting to gather parts to do a simple stock rebuild on it. I can use my new book!

I started reading this thread and was about to tell you that I told you not to use a Fram filter.
