Welding/Offroad Shops

Can anybody give me some leads for good shops that do welding in the NY state capital region (Albany, NY)? I need to get my frame stiffeners and long arm brackets welded, but can't seem to find any shops around the New York state capital region.

I did a search of previous posts and found SVE Performance in CT. I drove all the way down to SVE Performance in Milford, CT today and got a quote, but they are pretty much booked up until the end of July. Some autobody shops around here will do it, but they seem really sketchy. Their technicians sound like they want to "practice" their welding on my car, which is kinda scary because a LCA bracket breaking off on the freeway would really suck.

Might be too far for you to travel but there is a company here in Pittsfield, MA called Langenback Welding. He races at Lebanon and does his own tube frames, etc. Interesting character. I had some stainless tubing tig welded and he did an excellent job. Around here he is highly regarded. I'll be working with him next spring when my 44 is ready to go under the truck...

here is a link to his particulars...

You want to talk to Jim if your gonna follow it up.

Thanks tetsulo. Pittsfield, MA is much closer than Milford, CT. I'll definitely give Jim a call.

I am in Orange county. I know It takes me an hour and a half to get to albany from my shop. I can weld that stuff for you if you still need it give me a call and we can set you up with an appointment. And have you in and out.

Let me put in an unabashed pitch for Joe. SVE is close to me and used to have an excellent reputation. That reputation "may" be slipping recently. But he has done nothing to help or support NAXJA or the NAC.

The shop in Pittsfield is an unknown quantity to me. They may be excellent, but I'm not familiar with them.

Joe "RockReady" has been a supporter of NAXJA and the NAC. We've seen his work and we know it's good. Plus he always comes to NAC-Fest and gives away all his time and expertise keeping other people's heaps mobile on the trail, just because he enjoys doing it.

IMHO NAXJA should look first to support those who support us. All else being equal, I hope you'll go see Joe.

Thanks everybody. I'll be giving TRC a call. I can't wait to get this stuff welded.
