Well, it runs and will speed up and slow down so I assume it's getting compression.
The fuel I drained looked the same as the stuff I mixed and put in.
No, I haven't pulled the plug. Could that cause it to rev real high, then low; or real high then die?
Hard to say what it would cause, but fuel, plugs, and air are just what I always check with engines.
Have you tried running it without the air filter in place? (won't hurt anything in a non-dusty environment for diagnostics purposes)
Also perhaps he adjusted the screws on the carb for some unknown reason.
