The vehicle Information Center on my 98 Grand Cherokee Ltd 4.0 auto with Select-Trac is showing a bad coolant sensor. I replaced the sensor yesterday, but every time I start the thing up it comes back and then goes off again. How can I make it stay away? The owners manual doesn't say how to reset it.

I'm also getting a P0138 code, and found a lot of information on this code by searching, but is there a chance that these codes may be related to each other? This code is showing on the scanner but the coolant sensor isn't.

Thanks.

As I'm sure someone will point out to you, this forum is is for Cherokees, (or like the parts counter monkeys like to say "the regular Cherokee") not Grand Cherokees. Check out NAGCA - North American Grand Cherokee Association. I hear lots of good Grand Cherokee info. Good luck.

This is in the proper area, I see nothing wrong with helping the guy out. Plenty of NAXJA guys own ZJ's and will probably chime in.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be a jerk. I was trying to say that someone else might be - most people here are great, but there are some that will flame someone for asking about a Grand. I'm all for helping out, that why we're on here. Plus I didn't notice it was in the other tech area. Guess I wasn't quite with it last night.:dunce:

Sorry about being in the wrong forum. This is my first Jeep so I wasn't well versed is Jeep lingo. I asked around work and some one suggested this forum. I've gotten a lot of info from here so it did come in handy.

Thanks for the advice and the tip on the proper forum.
