Update on my Wagoneer with Questions.

Let me check & see, I may have my drip pans. I really don't think you need them though. Plus it's really cool to watch water come up through the vents. JIM.

No problem, I wasn't going to worry about it. Thanks though!

The only prob with that location is the hood braces. If you dont mind cutting them go for it. But plan your cuts.

I'm going to cut around them like Jim did, so no problems there. The vents are large enough that a little covered space won't effect airflow that much.

I will post in the morning. Its been kinda crazy lately with the move and all. Finally found a place (I think :banghead: ) so progress should pick up again soon. :patriot:

I know, I know. Here goes. The Detours Backbone system is great. It bolts to the frame in 14 diff places. From the factory bumper mounts to the steering box on the drivers side, and the bumper bolts and 2 additional bolts through the frame on the pass side. I also had the shackle mounts moved up higher so I didnt lose any ground clearance. They even made me a light bracket to mount my fog lites to since you have to cut the bumper and I lost the holes. Also since I havent updated this in a while, I have pics of other "upgrades". Enjoy.

Still runs like a top and no oil leaks at almost 300,000 miles.

Yea I still have the originals. I cant decide which ones I like better.

Hey guys I got to use the Detours system yesterday for the first time. It worked great. I pulled a stump out of the creek in our yard. Felt VERY sturdy. FWIW.

Where did you get your valve cover breather? Mine leaks all over the place and would like to get it stopped.

AutoZone. They have a few diff ones, but if you look at the inlet and outlet connections it is self ex.

What does the breather do? I'm guess it lets more air get into the mixture? I'd probably want one to just to stop the damn leak on top of the VC. I guess this would also help with the oil in my air filter?

It helps to lower the pressure in the crank case. A common cause of blow by.

FYI. I am starting on the lift next week. I pretty much have everything together  .
I will post up progress as I go.

O and one more quick nOOb question. LOL I am getting shocks off the shelf. Am I correct in thinking that you need to jack up the truck, let the axles drop, Then measure the distance from the top mount to the lower mount. Next do you need to compress the suspension to measure distance top/bottom or do you just put on the shocks that fit the bill from the first measurment and bumpstop? Again I know this has been asked by someone before. But I dont have much free time anymore (work) and if someone has the correct procedure off the top of their head please post it up.TIA

I like your quote on the bottom of your postings. I'm a vet, and I assume you are too. I think everyone should have to serve 2 years, to learn some respect for this country.
