downside to a balanced stiff suspension:

I need to fudge the rear shock mounts around a little so I can get a little more droop (can stuff right to the bumpstop which puts the tire 1/2" away from the top of my new wheelwells) don't wanna lose the uptravel that I have, the front still needs some fine tuning, but all in all it turned out pretty damn good.

now it's time for a cage, bigger axles and less roof :D

Looks like a pretty effective setup for such big tires on so little lift. I hope to do something similar if not a bit less aggressive.
Do you have a side-shot pic of it sitting on level ground?

Thanx -
That is one very serious wheelwell (okay - two).

Centralia, eh? still gotta check that place out. Definitely looks like it works great, I like it...:)

HAHA, I never noticed the plastic XJ grille halves on your hood, that's kinda neat looking.

man, gotta love the two doors....

Look! Its a yetti!

:D

Did you have to do anything to the inner fenders or just pull em out and toss em? Getting ready to chop on my MJ. Thanks for any input
up front, all the plastic garbage got tossed, I also hammered the pinch seam on the floor flat and then continued to beat the floor in until the tires cleared.

this will not work on a vehicle with a manual transmission, you will not be able to depress the clutch. I had to slightly trim the end of the brake pedal to get full travel back (don't know if it will ever use that much travel, but better safe than sorry!)

you might have some issues with the MJ due to slight differences in the floor construction, as a matter of fact, the e-brake pedal will not allow you to clearance the floor like I did (unless you swap in an XJ e-brake handle and center console.

Nice road. What is that, smoke coming up through the cracks? Where do you live anyway? Hell? Even in the pictures in the daytime it still looks gloomy. :laugh3:

cheapxj,
do u have d30 and d35 front ad rear?
also, what 4" lift did u get?
did u go 3 1/2 and use spacers? u think if i get 3 1/2 and use 2 inch spacer, would that setup allow the same tire clearence as yours?

thanks for the info.

i just bought an 87 xj 4 door and am excited to get it going.
