Well I made it out here in one piece. I got into Woodland Park about 10 p.m. The town has quite a few of those really wide speed bumps. There is one at the bottom of the hill that leads up to the house. So...I'm maneuvering my rig and trailer over the bump and then gonna turn right up the hill. Then theres a gut wrenching sound and I'm hung up.
The trailer high centered on the bump about 2 feet back from the hitch. Of course...my dumb butt wanted to save 60 bones at UHAUL by not getting the insurance on the trailer (what can go wrong with a trailer?). The wiring was destroyed and the jack was....well....jacked. I'm tired and not thinking clearly. Finally got some of my wits and decided to unload the Jeep and hopefully bring the trailer up. Took 40 minutes for my DA to get the Jeep unloaded. No I don't want to get into it. After I had the thing all jack knifed, somehow I got it free.
Called the G/F and told her (mistake # infinity). Wished I hadn't. Then dug around in the truck and found a bottle of Tequila. Then I had a blurry vision. Long story short, I was able to splice the wires in the morning and used heat shrink tube to make it look all good before returning it. Never a dull moment.
That truck had about a 50 gallon tank. First fill up was 120 bones! If you guys are out this way and need a futon/air mattress or whatever...lemme know.
