I'm not going. :twak:

:D

If you can make it a little later in the morning I'm down. I just ran Twin Cone a couple of weeks ago - awesome views from the top and a great, steep hill climb on the way.

I might be going, so I might be wasting your time.

2", 31s, factory LS, sway bar disconnects, some armor.

This looks like a really fun trail, but I've had some parts waiting for me since...May. I'll know for certian by Saturday.

The plan is to meet up in Conifer at the King Soopers at 9am. We'll depart from there absolutely no later than 930am, so don't be late.

Hopefully you can make it, would be fun to wheel with you again. How did you like this trail compared to SlaughterHouse? Any new mods to the Jeep?

9:00 just means I've got to bring my 1-year old with me. He usually doesn't like sitting in the car for long periods of time, but I'll probably give it a go and see how he does.

It's pretty comparable to Slaughterhouse I think, maybe a bit easier. There was only one spot I had to take the bypass on and I gave it a couple of good tries first. I'm sure you and Stang will climb over it no problem. I think the best part is the hill climb about 3/4 of the way through. I'd guess it gets as steep as 45-60 degrees in places and gives you plenty of line options. Lockers are extremely helpul! One guy that was with us had open diffs and he had to go slightly off trail to a grassy part of the hill to get up (we didn't condone going off trail, of course, and gave him lots of grief when he got up).

The only mod I've done since Slaughterhouse is a Tom Wood's SYE and CV driveshaft. I got sick of dealing with the vibes and decided to put a little of Uncle Sam's stimulus check towards getting rid of them. I'm still sitting at 2" with 30x9.50s, disco'd swaybars, and front locker. I plan on hanging where I'm at until I can afford the 5.5" kit and 33x12.50 TrXus MTs I'm saving for.

A quick lesson learned from our trip up Twin Cone - when stopping at the camp area to eat some lunch, showing off by posing on a steeply slanted rock that's angled downhill is not a good idea...

That same guy thought it would be good to drive directly over a big rock and high centered himself. It took a while to get him off of there.

I preferred going around it

Sweet!, I tried to run this in my old Cherokee (3", 31s) last fall but got stuck behind a group of Libertys that were having problems getting up the steep hills toward the top. After waiting about an hour, we ended up turning around and calling it a day, never making it to the top :(. I learned that day that I'm sure glad I didn't buy a Liberty!

That said, I'M' IN! See you on Sunday morning!

Poor Samurai, its a shame to see such a capable little wheeler in the hands of an idiot. Personally I think Samurais are the shite, I'd take one over a Wrangler any day. Only reason I went with a Cherokee instead of another Samurai when i got back from Iraq was that I knew I'd be starting a family and wanted a roomier vehicle. I don't like the idea of having to trailer my rig to the trail, I think there is no reason to not be able to load up the wife, kids, dog, and luggage into the rig for a weekend of camping and wheeling.

Looks like we're up to 5 vehicles now.

Josh: 2dr XJ, 4.0Renix, AX-15, 5.5" RE SA, SYE, 35's, 3.55gears, rear locker, 8.8 w/ discs

Dutch: 4dr XJ, 4.0HO, AX-15, 4.5" RC SA + 1.5" shackles, 32's, 3.55 gears, rear lincoln locker, 8.25, YJ Ebrake cables, IPOD w/ cassette adapter

Matt: 2dr 4Runner, 3.4L V6 swap, 5spd, 4" Skyjaker IFS lift, 33's, 4.88 gears

Jawa: 4dr XJ, 4.0 HO, AW4, 2" budget boost, 30's, front locker

Todd: 4dr XJ, 4.0 HO, AW4 and a whole bunch of stuff that I'm not sure of.

Looks like I'm a no-go.

Even if the parts guy cancels, I've lost my prep time. :tear:

Keep posting those trips!

Sorry to hear, good luck with the parts.

What kind of prep time do you need? It only takes me about an hour.

I'll keep posting trips, although this will probably be the last one for awhile. My g/f goes in to the hospital Tuesday, they are inducing labor so after Tuesday I'll have a baby boy to take care of. Its one thing to leave the girl at home prego, but I can't really leave her at home with the newborn. I'll try and make 1 trip a month from here on out, but it all depends. Besides its time to dig deep into my Jeep. Experimentation phase is over and I've got a lot of stuff planned for the next few months.

A couple hours for the DD to Stealth-Wheeler transformation. There are a few other things I should work on before I mount the heavier tires again.

I was wondering when the baby announcement would come. I understand your situation well enough.

Have fun tomorrow!

Yeah, its kind of good that I won't be wheeling my Jeep almost every weekend now too as I've got a few little things to fix on it that are adding up every trip. Nothing major, just a bunch of little maint. things I've been slacking on.
