First is a 96
160k on the clock.
Looks good, interior is weak.
A/C needs charged.
Nearly new tires,
3" lift

Second is a 91
220k on the clock but 20k on motor.
Paint faded, interior good.
A/C needs charged.
New tires
4" lift
$800 more than the 96

Both claim to run perfectly and be very reliable. I have not seen them in person but will (hopefully) this weekend.

Yeah, that's a tough one.

The year doesn't make that much difference to me...

I'd probably have to go with the 96 simply because:

It has an original engine. Who knows who built the engine in the 91 and what mistakes were made... This would scare me away! I'd take a 170k Chrysler built engine over a brand new mystery built engine. (Unless he can provide papers for where it was built)

Paint is good but interior is poor. It'd cost more to have it painted than it would to pull the interior out of a junker...

They both have lifts so that doesn't matter unless one has a fancy suspension and the other one is a budget boost. Personally, I'd prefer the one that has had the least amount of "Work" done to it. (Sounds like the 96)

My vote is to buy the 96 and a new set of tires with the 800 you saved and be happy! :D

96 FTW!

i agree.. get the 96 or keep looking
that guy with the 97 classic in the forsale section is one i d look at.. 97 or 98 classic.. that would be a nice one..
how much you looking to spend?

I'm looking to spend around $2500. The guy with the 96 hasn't been very communicative regarding questions I have emailed so that makes me leery of it. I also found a 90 model with a 3" lift and worn tires but the guy says the entire drivetrain has been redone about 30k ago. But it doesn't have A/C and I kinda like A/C. Also don't want to travel very far from home to get one. 3 hrs is my max.
