I loved the set I Had on 33" flavor on 8" wheels. I kept them at 32.5 psi, and when I sold them they had at least 25k on them probably more like 30k. They had plenty of tread left and never did they ever make me desire for a different tire. As soon as my 36's wear out I will either go 35 or 37 TrXus. they are a great tire, just a little heavy, but hey we aren't driveing Honda Ridgelines are we???

Sounds like you need more info from people who have personally ran both tires on the same vehicle.(not at the same time) I've never tried the Trxus but have never complained about the BFG's.

I am looking in to them for bolth my MJ and my 4runner i have always run TSL SX but now living 80 miles one way from work and 95 one way from the trail i am looking in to radials and also wondering about the where and weight
i ran them in 35s on my tj , i thought they were ok , but i will tell you if you have alignment problems they wear fast real fast. i went from like 80% to about 30 % in two weeks i didnt even notice any handling problems with my jeep. Found out my wheel bearings were just starting to go. I also had tsl radials and i liked those alot better. i put 25k on them and still had at least 70%

Im running the trXus 265/75/R16 (32's) and i have nothing but good things to say about them. I was running BFG AT's 30" before. The difference in the mud is night and day. I also have run them quite a bit on the highway as it is also my DD, and although ive only put about 4K on them total , they appear to be wearing real well.
Also like others have said they really are pretty quiet MT tires. They really arent any noisier than my old BFG ATs.
Only thing is i havent really directly run them against BFG MTs, but i can speak for these and so far theyve been amazing. For the conditions i wheel in (PA-mostly mud, some rocks) theyre great.

I've got 15,000 miles on the MTR's with half to less tread remainning. Trxus, I had 30,000 miles with more than half the tread left when I sold my old XJ.
Trxus rule for those that want to dd, and off-road with the same tire. Other than dd, I run TSL SX's.

What prices are you guys getting, I got 179 lowest for a 35"...
Just use 10 or 12oz of BB's and then that should solve the balancing right?

I've been running the 34s for the summer but don't have enough miles on them to know how long they will last. I didn't like the the traction on rock at first but after a few trips at 10 to 12 PSI I have found they hook up good now especialy on wet rocks. They run good on the road for a mud but they took nearly 11oz. to balance on steel rims. I have put some tears in at the base of the lugs but none have been a problem. My experiance with them comes from running them hard on slick rock in Moab and rocky trails in Colorado. I don't have any mud experiance with them.

Trxus MT's are probably the only radial tire I'll ever run on a rig that sees any time off pavement.
I did 80-100 miles a day for nearly a year on my 33's, and loved every minute of it. Rode just as nice as any other tire I've had, and I had incredible performance with them offroad as well.
BFGs - overpriced for what you get, and shitty sidewalls, and that ghey rim protector. I had some AT's that I promptly ditched after the first time I drove them in the rain. They last forever but that's because they're made of concrete, except the sidewalls, which I became disenchanted with ever since a buddy of mine put a TWIG right through where it says "tri-gard". F those things.
MTR's are a joke for east coast wheeling, no one out here really likes them. I can't think of a single situation where a MTR ever did anything better than my Trxus tires, but plenty in which I did a lot better.
The best experience I had with them was actually in the snow. There was one climb at Paragon that was very long and steep, with about 6" of packed snow on it. Everyone else was jeepspeeding the whole time, and I just did a leisurely crawl for the entire hill. The siping on them really makes the difference over any regular MT.
Only offroad tire I've ever liked more was the regular ol' bias TSL.

what about MPG with trxus? Odd question, I know, but with the talk of how heavy they are makes me wonder. I have had Trxus on my mind for awhile, but I keep going back to (BFG) AT's as my next set of tires this spring due to treadwear, and hopefully decent MPG.

I've had em all, MTRs (bulletproof in the rocks, crappy in mud, loud as hell on the highway), BFG M/Ts (good looking tire, decent in mud, sidewalls are weak) TrXus M/Ts (best do it all tire I've ever owned, wear well and are pretty tough--I beat on them pretty hard) and then some. I'm running a set of Khumo M/Ts now cause, they were cheap and wear well and I couldn't be happier (they work well offroad and are pretty tough). The secret to tread life is: Keep them properly inflated, have the vehicle aligned and frequent rotations. I have over 30,000 on my current tires and I have no doubt I'll get 30,000 more. Btw, these were all 35s mounted on my '85 Toyota p/u that's also my dd/work truck that sees nearly 100 miles a day (I'm on my 3rd motor and second trans!) with a rear locker in it.--------Hans

i've had my truXus for awhile and I have no complaints...i do 350-500 miles a week and they run great... pretty quite (for a MT) and they balanced fine, I also have perfect alignment with them, something I could never get even with my stock goodyear gs-as... i have 3.55 with an AW4 and im getting between 275 and 300 miles out of a tank...they do very good in mud and I think you will love them!

Or just get Irok's. They wear fairly quickly. But I have put about 300 miles of trail and 200 miles on the street on them and they are SICK. I dont even air them down past 20 psi. I ripped half a sideall lug off, but it was my fault for railing when I should have been crawling. 36x13.50s = Best tire me or any of my friends have ever owned.
