Trip to Moab!

2.25 per xj or 2.25 divided among 5 xj's?

i'm thinking it's $2.25 between 5 rigs... so that would be

3600 x 2.25 = 8100

7200 / 5 = 1620

...correct me if i'm wrong though

so $1620 per XJ round trip...
then there would have to be a 15 passenger van rented to transport those going...

Would that be an insured load and would that cover anything that happened to the load of rigs round trip? Would the hauler stay in Moab while the group was there or would it be making other trips in the meantime? Mainly asking to see if anything could delay departure toward home.

That is a generous offer by the way...WWalstev

I asked Magic Carpet Transport the same question and they said that with a full hauler that it would probably be the same driver, and that they could guarantee the pick up date. And yes, all our babys will be fully insured there and back.

As it looks there may not be enough interest to fill a 10 car hauler, but perhaps 5 for just a little more $ each. If I go i'm not driving my XJ, will you have your own XJ on your trailer, if so we just need 3 more. Come on folks, post up!:D

Just a thought. Would the XJ's fit with donut spares all the way around?

groups of two, 1 uhaul piggyback I belive they can haul 2 xj's at least, and just split the cost and gas???

I looked on uhaul, a rig would fit unless your wider than 7'3''

Do they have tiedowns on the inside? It'd suck to get in an accident with one of those unloaded, but loaded with two rigs? Good luck with that one. If they've got tie downs, that's not a bad idea, what's the cost?

Yeah that'd suck bad. I don't think that they have tiedowns but you can chalk block all 4 tires, and I bet some rigs might be too tall. You chould transport with the stock tires. I know uhaul has auto transport trucks aswell I've seen them b4 in their parking lots. I bet it's under 100 for the rental + miles + fuel. Maybe 900-1000 a person. Has anyone looked at rail freight yet??? You know thats cheap. These are all just ideas....
