First time experience for me - throwing it out there for discussion.
Today on the way back from a project, I decided to take a little sand wash canyon detour just for kicks. I was alone, but had run this canyon before, it is 2wd passible for the most part.
I came upon two guys in a Nissan truck stuck in the sand. The guy asked for a bumper to bumper push, which I declined since it was likely to just cause damage and unlikely to get them unstuck. I didn't have any recovery gear and neither did he. These guys were not typical looking off roaders, the situation was a bit sketchy. We weren't far from the road and since my instincts were telling me to keep my distance, I gave them a bottle of water and told them if I saw somebody with a strap I'd send them their way.
Now looking back I don't really know if I successfully avoided being rolled by some sketchy undesirables or if I left two poor fools stranded in the canyon.
Thoughts? experiences?
