Found out the truck he's some type of exhaust brake/flap under the cab. Me n a buddy kinda hot wired it to see if it worked. The actuator works. We tryed to do it driving down the road but it didn't seem to work like I've been told it should. There's got to be more to it then the flap.

It's an automatic so you aren't going to get full engine braking. If you get a torque converter lock-up kit you should get a lot more.

ohh ok. how hard is it to add a torque conv. switch?
there has to be pieces missing from it tho, all i have is the exhaust piece.

Like eflores said, you need to go over to cumminsforum and read up on it. Just search exhaust brake over there and you will get tons of info, if you have questions post up on there and they will walk you through it. It is like

If you dont have the torque converter locking up with an exhaust brake you will burn that transmission to the ground.
2006 was the first year that you could get a dealer installed factory option on a dodge for an exhaust brake with an automatic. Prior years I was told the trans wasn't smart enough to communicate with an exhaust brake.
Now, aftermarket stuff...I'm not as familiar with, just the cummins exhaust brake...btw it was awesome...
