I have about as much trust in Crown Automotive as I would have in a dana 35 on a competition rig. I (to give them a chance) threw a set of Crown balljoints in my XJ, and had to replace them after -1- run. I've had similar experiance with other parts of theirs, but I'm sure they can't all be bad, maybe just all the ones I've needed.
My local autozone can get WJ bushings one week, no listing for them the next week. I'm guessing it has a lot to do with who's working the computer that day.
The metal sleeve on the WJ ones are solid/continuous, where as the ZJ ones look like they were cut & pinched together, but they are still more solid than the XJ ones.
I've got my contact at NAPA bringing in a pair of ZJ and XJ bushings for me to look over. I'll post pictures when I get them (either tomorrow evening or Saturday AM).
I had our local club friendly guy at NAPA (super knowledgeable guy) price these for me... He said he couldn't get Crown parts and that all his Delco/Moog/TRW stuff only shows XJ/ZJ/TJ stuff. Nothing distinct for WJ.
What's up with that? Maybe it's a Canuckistan thing.
I have not, as I have been waiting for other parts to come in before I started into the axle... however I will be starting my search next week.
I will post up my results, if any, whether they be positive or not.

ggggrrrrrrr. i hate vauto zone! talk about dumber than a box of rocks!
im better. ok, i hit my favorite NAPA store and they were unable to cross referance the part numbers listed earlier in this thread for the WJ bushings. i had them pull a ZJ bushing and its the same as our stock ones.
then i hit the local idiot gathering place- i mean auto zone. i was looking for an 100W H3 bulb plus the WJ bushings. the guy told me there was no such thing as a 100W H3 bulb even though i just came from where they were supposed to be on the shelf. then he was helping another customer and he didnt even know what a hood release cable was. finally i asked about the wj bushings and there was no listing.
does anyone have a known good part # for them? preferably one that is known good for napa, autozone, csk/o'rileys.
If I get some time, I'll try and head to a my friendly autozone to look it up; but it won't be this week (that autozone is by my parents place an hour away).
Me too.
I got a new gas tank and the sump pan that holds the bottom of the sending unit was welded in upside down.
I got a headlight bezel and none of the screw holes lined up.
Very dissapointing for the price.

I can't comment on the gas tank (just bought a junkyard one), but I've purchased a headlight bezel from them and didn't have a problem...?
I've used a couple products from them and didn't have an issue. Granted they're not top quality, they're not trash.
I also just talked with someone from there. They switch their ball joint manufacturer to the same one Moog uses, but their's won't be the heavy duty kind. Should be a step up from what they were before.
Whats the easiest way to change the UCA bushings? I have an RE 5.5 with the drop brackets and its a PITA to get the bolts back in. Is it best to do it at ride hieght or take the load off the front end? This will be my 2nd set in a year. If its going to be this regular it needs to be easier LOL
Everyone has their own way of lining up the bolt holes.
I use a large pipe wrench around the axle tubes, and put a jack under the end of the handle. Jack it up or down to rotate the axle enough to line up the holes.
My buddy Anthony (asp387) has a safer way of doing it. He just jacks up the side of the body that he's lining up until he can slip the bolt in.
i would probably have done it colin's way if i had a pipe wrench that big because that was my first thought too. i really find it easiest to do one at a time and jack the body away from the axle. usually it just takes about 5-6" of lift with the hi-lift and the bolt goes right in by hand. just make sure you only do one at a time.

Really, you've gone through 2 sets with dropbrackets in a year? Something must be off, I've had mine on for 2 years and haven't touched the bushings. Is everything lined up correctly, arms adjusted properly?
