TJ door removal

I've got a 98 TJ w/half steel doors and I've been trying to take the doors off with no luck. I took the bolts off(stayed off since) to take them off a couple years ago and from what I remember they came off quite easily but now I can rock the Jeep with them and they don't budge. Any ideas?
Thanks

To remove the doors first take all 4 nuts off the bottoms of the hinge pins. Then put a towel or something on the mirrors and start working the door back and forth as you lift it straight up. It might be a good idea to spray the area with Power blaster or other lube/penentrant. The towel is to prevent the mirrors from cutting your face when the hinges give it up and let go for the first time, trust me on this.... don't try to gorilla it out either, the will come off and when they do it will be all of a sudden and you may end up on your ass...
Then put a good synthetic grease on the hinge holes and clean up the pins with some really really fine emory cloth.
We have two TJ's so I know from experience....

Thanks, I took the 4 nuts off a fewyears back so rust or something built up in there, I ended upgiving it a good spraying with WD-40 and then man-handled it out until I landed on my ass, for the first one....

LOL and people razzzed me when my first step in instructions for doing an oil change on a 98XJ 4.0 was 'first, remove your watch' second step was 'remove the dipstick'.....
