Thought i'd share the new rig..

Back on it's wheels, pick up my tires/wheels from my buds place tomorrow. Start checking things over monday, make any adjustments then start the rest of the parts install.

Fellow ZJers... what are you using for brakelines? I did the YJ lines on my XJ but they were just a tad short on the XJ with LA's, searching has others recommending the mid 90's Chevy 1500 fronts.

What off the shelf rear line works?

Some people have used a rear Dakota line , not sure if that will work for you but is worth a shot..
The jeep looks good and should ride real nice when done.

Heard of the 1500 lines as well- ended up running RE extended ones on my old ZJ.

Extended SS lines up front, YJ line out back, but it's almost too short for me SA's.

Why not run a short jumper at the body end of one upper, to a hardline down the arm, then another short jumper with a T at the axle? IIRC Chris Mycock did it on his XJ and has the N's somewhere.

yeah, I could swear I saw Big Chris post about that somewhere or other. IIRC he used lines off a Plymouth of some sort.

I'll have to search and see what Chris did.. thanks for the tip.

Threw the 33's on, axle placement looks ok. Adjust the pinion angles and install the spacers today. Looks like i'll need to trim the bumper ends a bit.

nice, I had to butcher that front bumper cover to be able to turn 33's....

Thanks again guys..

I'm hoping this rides real nice, concerned about the "torque steer" i'v read about with rear shorts. I think i understand what that's all about but i guess i'll see first hand soon enough.

Looking at it i think i'll trim ~1.5" off the bottom up to nothing at the bottom of painted fender and see how that works.

I was 1* high on the pinion, i figure once all the tools/parts are out of cargo area i'll be good enough. XJ44 will go in after the holidays.

Front trackbar is on, steering in, wheel spacers on, upper shock mounts on, YJ brakelines and calipers in, ABS sensors and harness removed from wheelwell and a bit more done.

About to start tightening all the suspension bolts and get more parts on it. Maybe get to drive it around the neighborhood this weekend.

Getting there..

For reference: Rear RE short arm measurements with used/settled 4.5" RE coils.. 17.5" lowers, 14 1/8" uppers.

I'm not gonna post about the rear IRO trackbar hitting the tailpipe and unable to bolt up. Until you realize the adjusting end goes to axle..

Stupid..

I think I've lifted 4 or 5 ZJ's, and had them apart countless times, and I STILL put the trackbar in wrong almost every time.

I'm used to adjustable ends always being in the upper area of whatever were working on.. this puts the jamnut and exposed threads down lower right inline with the winter salt bath. I antiseiezed the hell out of this rig.

The YJ lines look like they might be a tad short up front, doing some reading i found the ZJ OEM's are 18", the YJ's at 22" and the mid 90's Chevy 1500 trucks at 25". I'll grab a set after the holidays. I have a braided steel line from the XJ, check and see if that is long enough.. if not i'll look into that Dakota line.

Sold the TJ Canyons and 30's from the rig, nice guy with a 97 ZJ. He's wanting a lift now for the beach..

Cold and windy today, didnt get as much done as i would have liked. Supposed to be nicer tomorrow. Gary coming over for dinner tomorrow, i'll have him help me adjust the trackbars and bleed the brakes.
