Yesterday began Brad's and my adventure of putting on the Krusty's 2" lift kit. We began with the front figuring it would be great to get the hard part out of the way...WRONG! Once we were done with the front the hard part began. Of course, all the upper shock mount bolts broke. The driver's side upper shackle bolt decided that the 15 years of rust would be enough to break off the weld nut inside the frame. That was the biggest headache. Getting that bolt out proved to be quite an ordeal. After getting it out, we figured that between yesterday and today, we had had enough of the Jeep for the weekend. We put the shackles on, bolted up the leafs and I drove it home without shocks. So, I have to get the upper bolts out somehow and put the rear shocks on. For the most part it was a headache. But, I know it'll be worth the blood come time for WF.
Flex told me to knock out the old shock bolts with an air hammer and just put new bolts in from the top. Any views on the quality of this fix or a better/easier option, opinions would be appreciated. At any rate...This thing is making progress.
