Well it’s official; OldBlue was sold and will be heading to Colorado for some refit and fun with a new owner. It was my first XJ and I had a blast. So now I am working on my second XJ; a 1989 Laredo with about 125000 less than Blue had, auto tranny and working A/C…pics soon. It is such a deep burgundy it looks black.

Congrats!

I'm gonna miss OldBlue. We had some good times at Morris Mountain with her.

Woo Hoo!

it makes me sad to think of selling an xj someone had for a long time. i think about how much i miss my first xj everyday. a new one is always great, and can be a clean slate to keep from redoing things you regret, and build what you want the first time around. i hope you can have as much fun with the new one as you did with ol' blue!

thats like Avon.. no matter how ugly people think she is.. i still cant think of selling her.. i ve had her now for almost 2 years.. and beat the snot out of her before the paint job and she still runs strong.. i know what you re saying...

I'll never forget OldBlue on two cables with a log under the front coming up the hill. That was good times!!!!

BUT.......

With a new XJ comes a new set of experiences. Let's get on with making 'em!!!

I don't see a picture, dang work computer. It'll have to wait till I get home.

Wow spanky.. thats a good looking XJ!

Some of you may remember.
A little over a year ago my buddy (Dave) was itching to hit the trails. Anyway his wife saw this thing cruising down Broad Street in Sumter. We checked it out and he bought it. Admittedly, he is not mechanically inclined and all the little things lead to frustration. I helped him change the steering column, wire in a CD player, and introduced him to our pal Lennie. The front end got replaced and we lowered it about two inches to improve road manners. He had some work done on his F150, changed jobs and bought his wife a new car. This was sitting in the yard with a stuck ignition switch and dead battery. The rest is now history in the making brother.
It never hit the trail..it will now.

I know where it is. URE? Well.....OKAY!

I need to put the shackles back on the rear, fix the clogged catalytic converter, trim the front fenders, mount a winch plate, winch, make rock rails and a rear bumper….that will do it for now.
OH OH 33's in the not so distant future, mount the CB...crap we can do that Saturday!

That is a clean XJ. What are your plans? I'd be temped to run it as is and have a good time with it. It's really too nice to tear it up.
