The perpetual Pick-n-Pull thread

Negative, i paid 250 for a d30 at the rancho pnp last year. That was without brakes or steering. I went back for the calipers and they were 50 bucks. The calipers ended up being bad, remans. from napa were only 56 bucks. Lesson learned, pnp sucks now except for dealer only items that are a rip off or searching for diamonds in the rough ... given their high prices i'd just wait for something to pop up on c-list. d30's are all over that site.

Regular price is about $120. A little less w/o brakes.

and that would be half of what i paid...any day BUT half price day pnp IS a rip off. They charged me 50 bucks for calipers when they were 56 from napa... Screw pnp

Yeah, that is true, but even full price PnP is still better then buy'in new.

I think you really have to know what you are looking for and what you are looking at, used off craigslist can be the better way to go.

I just looked and I bought my front 44 on half off day w/out steering or brakes and it was $72 after the core charge.

was the core 50 bucks? That works out to be a pretty good deal if you go on half off day and take in some busted up axle with you. Cuz i wouldn't want a fellow wheeler to have a busted axle, but i'd be happy to give it to the inbreds an pnp.

wow thats alot more than i expected :p well i found a good deal through a guy i met. d30 with 4.10gears for 5o bucks :rof:it is a vacuum so ill have to convert it but other than that good deal!

picknull on sunrise had a rangerover with front and rear axles still attached...
a few zj v8 tie rods
some crappy lifted xj's,
blocks, add a leafs, and coils up front, so 2-3" rancho lift coils and boxed LCAS
thats all i can remember from a couple days ago....

Cherokee with AX5

Hi,

Anybody seen an XJ with a 4.0 and manual transmission at a junk yard somewhere in the south bay ?

Thank you,
Andrey

Fremont/Newark usually has several.

Went to Rancho today... they've got two Explorers w/ rear disks (8.8, right?) and two Honda Passports with rear disk brake D44s.

I think the Passports are 6 lug, but they might be a good match for a waggy front 44. And the Exploders are 5 on 5.5, I believe.

Billy

Exploders are all 5 on 4.5... one of the reasons they are a popular swap.

I went down to the Moss Landing one and they didn't really have a selection. Out of the three auto places and the PnP there were only 4 xjs and 2-3 zjs. I did see a couple explorer 8.8's with disks though. The good thing was the PnP had like 4-5 chyslers (lebarons & new yorkers) with hood vents, so I grabed a set for $14+
