KBB for a stock '01 XJ w/ only 55k miles is $9400. Somehow, I doubt this was a JY build like majority of XJ's, so I bet the price is reflective of the build quality. It is still 10k less than a stock used JK Rubicon (with similar mileage) that would still need a few more grand thrown at it for suspension, tires, wheels, bumpers, winch, etc, etc.

Most likely starting high so he can at least settle on a reasonable sale price.

Yeah, I think he is being way too optimistic on this one. I would probably pay $9K for it.
