Good find. That has the updated 0331 head that doesn't have the cracking issue. Great easy replacement for a 2000-2001 and not too difficult of a replacement for other years.

We where going to pick that one up, but it has a lot of rust... it was a east coast jeep. He is also not flexible on the price at all he thinks it is a collector car and is worth a lot more than it should be.

There is another one in Flagstaff that needs injection pump seal and timing set for $600, still debating picking that one up.

is it just me, or does it seem that everyone in vegas thinks everything "not new" is a collectors item.

those diesels are kind of cool, but with cali smog testing diesels now, i think i will stick with the 4.0
if anything, maybe sticking the mercedes diesel in an XJ would be cool. those old mercedes diesels are friggin bullet proof.

Yeah, rust through on the rockers, rust on the floorboards, and it's 25 yrs old, but he still wants $5500? Some times being young and broke will keep you from getting screwed.

Also, this vehicle would be exempt from smog still. All diesels 1998 and newer with a GVWR of under 14000 are to be checked. So a 1985 Cherokee would be old enough to not be checked.
