Has anyone ever swapped an NP205 and front D44 from a full size Chevy into an XJ. I need a full size front axle to match a 9in thats ready to sling under the Cherokee. But Ford HP 44's w/o cast wedges are getting hard to find and you got to fight a herd of Bronco guys to get them.

I'm thinking that the Chevy unit already has the high steer knuckels so Ill save some cash there to.

To do this you will have to reeout your exhaust. I would look into the D300 before I did a single chevy 205.

The 205 is big too. running it on the passenger side you're probably going to have to do some major tunnel work.

Also if you reroute your exhaust to the drivers side it will be right next to the fuel lines. I don't know if it would be an issue but it might need to be shielded from the heat.

Also not all chevy 44's have the flat top PS knuckle for high steer.
