Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
I think I'm having a DB Dave moment.
I had a small incident with a Mexican who walked in front of my ZJ while I was going 50 MPH.
Five days and $900 later I have this:
It's pretty complete, not in the best of shape, but between it and mine, I should be able to cobble one really nice one together. The wheels for sure are mint. It has a clean title as well, no trans/t-case, the motor is in it with 191k and it turns over freely but the guy I bought it from has no idea of the history on it. Could be fine, could be shot.
Which is why the second part of the deal included the front half of another 5.9 ZJ. It had a tree crush the cab during Sandy and they sectioned it off at the cowl/A-pillar. So this has a known good motor with 90k miles, a rebuilt trans with 2k on it, and a good t-case, sitting on top of the complete front suspension. So it still rolls around.
Short term I got all this just to patch mine back together for the rest of the winter, but once it gets nice out and I can work on it in the driveway instead of the garage, I'll decide how much further I wanna take this.
I'll have enough parts to build one nice 5.9 and pretty much a complete beater one with a title, if I wanted to go that route.
Likely though with 200k miles on mine I'll be tempted to build the 90k mile motor as I have time & money available for it, to swap into mine at some point. 408 stroker or some such thing.
Damn Mexicans.
