Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

get a 3.6L laredo and then swap all the body panels and badges to make it look like an SRT8 that way the show/hp ration will be similar to your MJ

Gold. You've been on fire lately sheepster!

3.6

Not too interested in a 5.7 unless we found one for a decent price.

Lame.

Why not? Her commute is walking distance so fuel mileage can't be a valid reason.

I got myself banned from cherokeeforum by self request that somehow makes me laugh

you requested to be banned? LOL

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

Uh, price? Its like 8 grand more for a 5.7 new.
This isn't a diesel pickup.
IIRC the 5.7L adds about $3k when new which on a used model (and again not a pickup) would not be that much.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

The problem is when people order a 5.7, they usually get leather/nav/sunroof and all the other options.

It's easily $3-4k more on a used model. The only used one I found under $30k has 40k+ miles on it. No thanks, not for that price.

She doesn't need the power and we usually take her vehicle on longer road trips so the mileage saved would be nice.

I hear you, it took us awhile to find the larger engine in Angel's car without navigation and junk. Worth it though.

Leather on the other hand; while I do prefer cloth, I will never own another cloth vehicle with a dog. Leather is so much more easy to clean.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

If you can afford the larger engine/leather and all that, then that's awesome.

I just can't justify paying for it when there's really no need and she doesn't care to have the larger engine at all anyway. 300hp in that thing is more than enough.

just looking at the new ones you have to get the limited package or higher before you can get the 5.7 which starts ~$7k above the laredo before you even upgrade the motor. That being said the msrp for the most basic laredo is $32k and you get the full warranty with it which you might not get with used

Yea, good call. You don't want her showing you up at dyno day.
