THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Wait seriously? You blew the HG on a 2.5? What symptoms?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Well it started with a misfire every now and then then it started miss firing and sputtering a lot. And when it did I'd see white smoke out the stack.

So my dad popped the secondary release on the rad cap and the antifreeze came out all foamy and raindow colored like when you see puddles with oil in them. Now it wants to stall.

The over heating light was on. But the sender isn't even wired up so I didn't pay much attention to it.

Just use a bottle of head gasket fix and a dozen eggs

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No matter, i'll toss the engine from sam/colins MJ in the bed with the 8.8

(Only half kidding here.)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

anybody have any idea what size bolt is used for the drivers side motor mount? the outer bolt that holds it down.

The one that threads into the frmae brackets? I believe its typical 10mmx1.5 stuff

I can bring a stock one to NAC fest.

And no probly no jeep for NAC fest. I think I going to pull the engine and trans out of the hamburger train and throw it in the MJ. But that won't happen before nacfest.

Yea was hoping that was the case. Thanks

Nah don't worry about it. The gf's jeep will be getting brown dogs before she knows it. Just not gonna happen before going to Kentucky.

That's going to be a production... 6cyl obd to a 4cyl renix body.

Prepare for splicing and a LOT of swapping!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I planned on just swapping all the wireing in as well and maybe the dash. Idk if its going to be that intensive I might just do the head gasket.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What year is it again?

You don't have to fabricate anything to drop a 4.0 into an 87-90 Renix AFAIK.

If you have the dash/wiring/motor/mounts/crossmember, then it should all bolt in.

The only thing you may have to splice into is the MJ rear tailight wiring and maybe the brake light switch.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

MJ is an 89 and the Xj is a 94.

In that case you're screwed. But since I'm a nice guy I can come pick them both up to bring em to the scrap yard for you.

Yeah, everything will bolt in, it's just gonna involve swapping the harness, dash harness (since one's RENIX and the other is OBD... AFAIK they don't plug together), frame mounts, engine, driveshafts (time to make a new rear shaft), exhaust, etc etc.

The fuel level will go backwards since it'll be a RENIX MJ sender and an OBD instrument panel, ask me how I know. And 91-92 MJ senders are unobtainium.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i just want this week over

same... although i'll have new brakes and a passenger (long) side CV axle waiting for me saturday to put into my sister's car. youtube videos dont look like its too bad of a job. hopefully it leaves me with enough time to flush my cooling system and install new hoses and gauges in my british leyland machine. next thursday cant come soon enough.. leaving right from work for NACfest.
