THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Why should a slave cylinder last only 52K, and then need to be replaced 4 months/4K miles later? Why should lower ball joints need to to be replaced in under 40K, then a second time around 5K later. Why did 3rd and reverse gear need to be replaced at 25K? The idler tensioner, motor mount, door lock solenoid, etc.

Because I am cursed, that is why.

That is a good question, considering they have told me in the past that my throwout bearing is bad, and is not under warranty. I dropped it off to have the slave cylinder replaced for a 2nd time, (replaced under warranty in Feb 2014), and to ask if it could be an input shaft bearing (which is covered) rather than the throwout bearing. Called within 1/2 hr of being dropped off, "can you come back and take it for a ride with the techs, they can't duplicate the noise with the pedal."

I've only spoken with the dealership. I've been considering calling the Honda corporate.

SO this thing has been in multiple times for transmission related issues?

Yep, time to call Honda proper. I'd explain to them that you bought a new Honda so you wouldn't be inconvenienced, and the multiple times it's been to the dealer has been a significant inconvenience, and that the least Honda could do was spot you an f'ing clutch job.

then I'd sell it, because apparently it's a pile.

Oh gimme a base

Also pretend im rob, I hate it when I run out of shielding gas 10 inches of weld from being done with a project, anyone near me have a tank I can borrow for like an hour? Will pay for a refill on it, I only need to do a little more welding and this is done. Dammit!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

**** flux core, I threw that shit in the trash, I now plan on running out of wire or gas and get shit ahead of time

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just keep some flux core around. Never have a problem.

My fluxcore welder is barbies first welder and wont weld 1 inch plate to 1/4 inch unfortunately :(

Unless you mean put it in the big welder. That's an interesting idea...

I got hit by a driver coming the other way and it looks like insurance will want to total it. **** this.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Stefan rocks, switched polarity to DCEN, threw the fluxcore in, finished the job.

What was the other driver in? A tank?

A Toyota pos. The frames buckled and warped some how. The radiator is damaged. So is the steering box, trackbar, and the doors won't shut on the passenger side. I get that that can be fixed easy, I just don't have the $$.

Doing interior panels on the race rig...I've been using a wood router to cut the .120 and .090 stuff, with a 1/4" bit.

Pros: awesome clean cut, easy to guide, can set up on a router table to cut slotted holes for shifters etc.

Cons: I will be cleaning up aluminum shavings for the next 10 years. And it makes a very unique noise, one that caused my neighbor to wander over and see what kinda new machine I had, and was disappointed to see that it was just a hand tool causing all the ruckus.

So far so good with everything I've done...still not sure if I like this particular part of project. Interior panels are something you're gonna be staring at and working with the entire time you're driving so there's a pretty high level of 'get it right', for me anyway. It's fun but I'm sure once I screw up a large piece I'll be over the novelty of it pretty quickly. I don't have a way to weld aluminum so there's no fixing shit.

On the plus side, the tool I got for doing rivet nuts works fantastic, and I went and got a regular riveter today as well and some angle aluminum in case I want to make any panels that way (I have a few ideas in mind).

Just use a magne... oh.

Yeah, that is going to suck to clean up.
