Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Dude, stop chewing your nails. :spin1:

That sucks. Maybe it is some weird half year split? Same part number makes me think it is just a wrong part though.

I wish my allergies weren't in high gear right now. Took zyrtec (I barely ever take meds) and almost feel like I'm not going to die.

I don't chew my nails lol and yea, wrong part. The place in VT said they stopped carrying the aftermarket one and this is prob why.

Nasonex is available OTC now... It's called nasacort. It's cheap and i feel like a normal person when I use it.. Which is every day. Zyrtec only takes away like half of my symptoms.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'll have to try that when I run out of this. I'm not sure if this is just leftover crap from trying to ignore the problem for 4 days or if it isn't working as well as it should.

[rant]blah blah blah
[/rant]

a $1500 land rover still has parts and pricing in accordance with it's original cost.

same reason that owning an old european luxury anything is expensive.

and rockauto has recently started carrying a bunch of euro car parts, so you might want to look there.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It's 25 bucks for a brake line, it isn expensive. And the issue is that the 3rd party ones are wrong.

that's 5 times what a Bendix front brake line for an XJ costs.

All I'm saying is that you don't get to rant about shit being wrong, you chose to own a landy, in a country where they're not that popular and don't have much support.

you wanted the hate, there it be.

Hope it wasn't The 4x4 Center in VT.

Apparently I can't do a RMS/oil pan gasket. ****ing thing had a silver dollar sized spot of oil under it by the time I made the 20 mile drive back in to Boston. All the pan bolts were torqued to 7 ft/lb. Dunno what I'm missing here.

You used a torque wrench???

I just go around in a half assed star pattern torquing them to "feels about right" then keep going around till everything is snug. Never had any issues with that method on diffs or oil pans...

Where is it leaking from? Did you use RTV on the corners they say to use it on?

Struck out at the yards today (after skipping GTD to see if I could find something worth pulling and flipping) so I decided to put the dumb 5 ton back together. It's coming along slowly but surely, except I can't find my feeler gauges.

Yes torque wrench, yes on the RTV, and it looks like it's leaking out of the back of the pan.

Maybe you just suck at life.

Or you could have a burr on your crank and be eating the RMS up like my old jeep did.
Used to lose 1qt an hour at highway speeds after I gave up doing new RMS after the 5th one.

There's a thought. It has never not leaked in the two years I've had a Jeep.
