Ken are you sure those are self tapping bolts? "self tapping" and "transmission" don't really go together. I just buttoned mine back up and didn't use anything matching that description for the bellhousing cover.

Mine looked like self tappers with a 13MM head.

I definitely remember some coarse sheet metal screw kinda things in addition to the two large bolts.

How long were they? I used short stubby ones for mine. Granted they came from my bin o jeep hardware, but if they threaded in nicely I would be surprised if they were self tapping originally.

Edit: what generation bell housing are we talking? I thought they were all the same. Mine does not have that.

Two on the top side and one on the very bottom IIRC.

Very sure. I pulled em out yesterday in the junkyard. Just went to look at the ones in my spare pile of bolts from pulling it, actually, they're most definitely a self tapper.

I've pulled AX15s out of a 91, 95, 96, and (iirc) 97 and all of them that I remember had self tapping screws there.

edit: it's the very bottom center one, then the smaller top two just above the large holes roughly level with the input shaft.

So I'm going to order new shock shafts/lower eyelet for the two 12" Profenders I have left so I can either sell them to Dundy or whomever.

Going to order them through Profender directly. Already e-mailed about parts and the owner Dean got back to me pretty quickly.

You're welcome anytime.

The floor is sealed, I got some used oil from my truck on the floor and it wiped right up (within about a minute of being spilled there). That was nice. I'm sure if I had left it it would have stained.

I think I will be there. Looks like I'm gonna cross 2/3 of the country twice. Not 100% sure yet, but it seems to make the most sense at the moment.

Go in the Pontiac, get a place to live, fly back and hang out here for a couple weeks and drive the j10 towing a u haul full of stuff. My dad is giving me all his toolboxes full of tools from his old job as he has no use for them anymore, so somebody has to take them, or he will sell them at a huge loss, might as well take them.
