Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What's wrong with it today? Sunny in the mid-60s got you down? Going to rain tonight and part of tomorrow, but oh well!
Way to have a positive outlook on life!
:D

People are as happy as they choose to be.

I'm working all day today, have the weekend off but its supposed to rain. Whatever I'm selling shit and eating panos

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've been working in Needham Ma for most of the week. Leaving my house at 5, getting there for 7. But today we wanted to miss traffic so we left at 4 got down there for 6. That sucked

And you haven't called me? I work in Waltham right up 128.

I can't wait to split my farm tractor again this weekend after just getting it reassembled and running.
My neighbor had to do this a while ago, forget why. Some really dumb reason he was pretty pissed about.

He did a beautiful job restoring the thing though.

I've been borrowing a company truck and carting around a helper so I wasn't sticking around for any longer than I needed to be down there. If I was in mine I would've called you. I knew you were in that area.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Got my mower deck reassembled with new spindles/blades/belt and stuck it back under the lawn tractor tonight.

Turns out the little spring that pulls the tensioner pulley back once you release the PTO is kind of important. It rusted into pieces when I took it apart and I figured it was just extra...however the tension on the belt when the blades are turning is apparently enough to 'suck' the pulley towards the engaged position, even when tension is relieved on the PTO cable.

So the tractor starts, and drives around, but once you engage the blades they stay engaged unless you shut the tractor down. Then you can start it again and the blades will stay locked. Good enough to mow tomorrow I guess, just gotta keep that in mind until the replacement spring gets here.

I also didn't want to spend $5 in shipping on a $0.99 part so I ordered a new clutch cable and blade brake arms too...

Doing jobs twice sucks.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Getting the trans out of an old W200 Dodge with a divorced t-case is a pain in the ass. Mechanical bell-crank clutch linkage, friggin 8 bolts to hold the crossmember in place, bellhousing bolts stuffed up against the firewall...

So...first? Last? Was gonna go to bed a few hours ago but saw my neighbor was still up wrenching on shit so I wandered over to see what was up...we finally gave up after one of the crossmember nuts rounded off. The other neighbor's rooster 3 lots down has been going for the last hour, that ****er always hits 5:00 AM on the dot...

edit: best part is he said his grandfather (an ancient dude who actually owns/lives in the place next to me, it's his grandkid that does all this stuff) was gonna call him a bitch in the morning for being a pussy and letting the sun come up with the trans still in the truck when he said his goal tonight was to get the trans out. I don't mind living next to someone with that mentality :)

Heading over to another friend's house in about 5 hours to help him pour a truckload of concrete, dyed & fiberglass-mesh reinforced to do a stamped surface on. Fun times...
