THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

less than a mile from like six bars, a grocery store, three gas stations, an auto parts store, a laundromat, at least one crackhouse, and a liquor store.

No shwarma? Looks like you're a grade A RETARD.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Well then you're an idiot, because they don't have to come in a wrap and shwarma is awesome. I bet you've only had chicken shwarma you redneck weirdo, GROW UP.

Gtfo, what kind of animal do you take me for? Lamb ftw

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The only thing I miss is being able to get street meat on the way back from the bar. I'd kill for a lamb over saffron rice right now, but that's true on days ending in Y.

5 bucks for a giganto plate of meat, rice, and veggies covered in all the sauces and a can of coke. there is not a better deal on food on this earth.

I don't care if it is full of lead, melamine, and diesel fuel I will eat that shit all day.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

7.3 down. My beds more ****ed and I'm pissed at the operator of the backhoe at the scrap yard. I need to patch the frame in front of the second diesel tank strap. So the plan is pull the bed drop the tank. Stop drill the crack then v it out and fill it. When thats done fish plate both sides and move on.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Have you done it?

Can't say I have, although I've turned down several opportunities.

Unfortunately the 'convenience' of having a 900 sq ft garage, truck, trailer, project vehicle, several handguns and rifles, and a recording studio/rehearsal space at my own house doesn't really allow it.

I've even come to appreciate my neighbor's rooster 3 lots away that crows at 5 AM, because it lets me know I should probably go to bed soon. :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'd argue that living there is a totally different experience. Nice to be able to park somewhere on a Friday and not have to get in my car to do anything until work on Monday if I wanted to. Everything I need is within walking distance, and I only have to drive somewhere if I want to. That convinience alone is worth a bunch. Nice to be able to go grab dinner/beers at a wide variety of places within walking distance or a short ride on the T, and not have to worry about driving back. Everything comes TO Boston too- music, comedians, sports, etc. I've lived in cities in other areas in the past few years (Syracuse, Manchester, New Haven, Burlington, VT) and they just didn't have the same qualities or feel.

Well when you're fat you need everything to be within walking distance so you actually lose some weight :D

I guess if you base your life around bars and comedians or music then it makes sense.

Living near a city, much less *in* one, would drive me insane in very short order. That kinda life has zero appeal to me.

Yup. Having a garage for the toys, truck, trailer, guns (hopefully soon) kills any desire to live in a city.

We're only about 10 minutes from a shitload of bars/restaurants/fast food on 101A. I have a feeling it would take a least that long to walk/ride the T to your nearest spot anyway (it did when I was visiting friends).

I also usually don't drink to get hammered at a bar. Way too much $$$.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So some of the guys from Rocktoberfest invited me to go to AOAA June 21st...

I have the entire week of NACfest off. I COULD go wheel with them that weekend and then head back to RC for NACfest.

I'm just not sure what I'd do for the Monday/Tuesday that neither event is going on.

I'm actually even less than that to anything I'd ever need, both to food/restaurants, hardware, premium outlets, etc. I'm kinda in a no-man's land between a few state highways where due to zoning and county/state land designations there's never going to be any new construction. So I get to be 'in the middle of nowhere' while actually being in the middle of a lot of things.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Go to Hershey, and go to Lancaster to look at Amish people?

Leave your trailer at RC, come crash at my place and work on my rig while I go to my normal job, and make a side trip to LII?

Not too far out of the way to go camp at the Water Gap or someplace.

We're gonna be busy as shit the next month or so at work but if you did wanna do something like that I can see what sorta extra time I can take off.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'd agree with both of you- no garage and having all of my tools at Pat's house sucks. That is a huge downside.

To me, that's not a down side, it's a non starter.

Oh, and I'm having a shwarma for lunch.

These are the comments when Adam jumps down my throat about being and "old man".

I am having some water, shwarma or pizza sounds much better.
