THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I like the city so I can do hoodrat stuff with my friends

There's just more assholes out here to hang out with. If you like enjoyable, kind hearted, sensitive people, you gotta move out into the boonies. The city, CHOCK FULL of douchebags.

I hate the city and the suburbs. That's why I'm gonna kill myself.

probably one of the employees.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The way the rear axle has at least 3 sets of leaf perches and is standing on what, 4? 5? 6? inch blocks is what does it for me. The drums and flipped dually wheels are just icing on the cake.

I bet it's planted pretty good going around corners with 1000lbs of suspension and flipped duals but the scrub radius has got to be out of this world.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I built one a few months back too. Aero lower, Windham Weaponry parts, free float handguards, yankee hill barrel, troy sight and an Ace carbine length skeleton stock. I wanted it to be light and simple, and I liked building a gun knowing all the parts were made in America. It'll get an aimpoint when my prostitution business picks up again.

 there are some mfgs that make high quality components locally. I cheaped out on stuff like the stock for this one (boring A2) but nearly all of the rest of it was made here.

Edit: first, I guess

Our neighbor had a bear knock down his bird feeder Monday night. First time he's seen a bear in the neighborhood for 31 years.

I invited Travis to come up for some hunting. No need to go to Maine for that apparently .

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Don't be surprised if you don't hear/see any evidence again for a little while. I'm pretty sure their circle is bigger than deer and it's a multi-day loop.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah I'm not worried about it. I was already planning on trashing the bird feeder the previous owner left here and we keep our garbage in the garage anyway.

I'm sure all the other chemical/fluid smells from the garage cover that up just fine

Both my parents and us take feeders in every night for this very reason. Pretty much a given if you leave the out the bear will be around especially this time of year.
This past weekend we noticed the amount of of deer in VT. The arborvitae look funny with no new green from ~4' down and it is a gold mine if you like deer scat. We haven't had that issue much in MA.

I'll take either of the above "issues" over sidewalks any day!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah NH Fish & Game says to take them down from April 1st until the fall period. Not surprising. Our bird feeder has had nothing in it for a long time but now's a good reason to trash it completely. Especially considering the guy has it right on the deck, spilling seed right onto the pile of firewood that he stacked right next to the deck.

Time to clean all that up this weekend.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The birds are nice. IMO, I wouldn't permanently take the feeder down. Beers won't do much harm other than the feeder (and surrounding shrubs) if you forget and leave it overnight as long they can get to it easy and you leave them alone. Unlikely it'll be crashing through your sliding door into your kitchen unless it is rabid or something.

Another reason you need to get a dog. It becomes part of the nightly walk to bring the feeders in and then out again in the morning.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Dogs are good early warning systems, too.

What else will eat from a bird feeder, or the stuff that drops on the ground? Squirrel (duh), Turkey? Deer? There's lots around here, but not much of it ventures through the patch of woods behind my house between our yard and the golf course. I'd like to lure them this way prior to hunting season... I can hunt my yard or the golf course when it's closed, but it's only closed when there's snow.
