THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If you extend out the tierod connection point on the knuckle, doesn't that mean you'll have slower steering/less steering angle on the same pitman arm? But more power.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Running D50 outers seems simple to me...

Plus unit bearings = short/strong stubs and no spindle to shear off.

Though if they ever need replacing (probably not frequently at all @ sub 4k lbs on 35s or even 37s if they're F450 sized) they'll be expensive unless the Spidertrax ones are serviceable. I know nothing about them.

Are you going to redril them to 5 x 5.5 Chris? Or somehow get the 8.8 to be metric pattern?

I'll put it this way, my white cherokee had a clean carfax for the entire time I owned it.

Don't waste your money, do a decent chassis/drivetrain inspection and plan on replacing a few hundred bucks in random wear parts.

Try Craigslist, people with unlimited subscriptions will usually run one for you for a few bucks.

Working on it. Hence why I'm 'subcontracting' on this stuff.

sounds expensive.

Probably will be.

Yeah, that too.

Sounds complicated. Apparently Chris is unfamiliar with the saying keep it simple stupid

^^ all this. Spidertrax sells them in 5 x 5.5. And yes they're serviceable, and yes I expect them to last quite a while.

While building it might not be the simplest part, the end result of just about everything I'm doing on this rig will be one of the most simple, stripped-down, easily serviced vehicles in the field.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sounds like a pretty sweet setup to me.

Do those use 35 spline stubs?

Are you using 30 spline inners on the D35 up front?

That's what it looks like right now. I'm not sure ye how that's all going to play together. The D50 outer stuff has enough clearance for an 806x, but the Spidertrax yokes are bigger than Dana stuff so it'll just depend on how we can construct the knuckle & C around it I guess.

when i was looking for my truck i found that carfax was very helpful tool because i saw a lot of trucks with blown motors or new trannys inspection issues or even one where it never had any registration history but have over 100,000 miles on it. i figure pay the $50 is better than risking the chance of spending a shit load more in 3 months becasue the dealer or po "forgot" to tell you that the car as history of eating transmissions. but then again im into buying quality vehicles for dd

EDIT: jeep has 29 records lol

Just ran my truck's vin on that site and saw the same as when I ran a carfax on it. No reported accidents, and I'm the second owner. Pretty neat being that it's free
