THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Also, the only reason I regret doing the coil mounts on mine was that I went to coilovers immediately after doing it.

If you don't plan on coilovers for a long while, then it's not a bad idea.

I have some sweet profenders I'll sell you :D

No but not sure what's wrong with 180 lb/in spring rate depending on how much travel you want and how much travel they have before blocking, as well as what your corner weights are.

Also, depending on if you plan on doing go-fast/valving shocks, etc. or if you just plan on wheeling the thing.

I just want to ditch the leaf springs and go wheeling. Go fast can come later. I already have some 7100's so I don't have the shittiest shocks on the planet. Kinda want to do all the link stuff while the motor and drivetrain are completely out and I have all the room in the world. I can use my old block and oil pan to check for clearances and whatnot, but I have a pretty good idea of where I have room.

11,250,000 X wire diameter to the 4th power
divided by 8x the active number of turns X the mean diameter cubed.

Active turns are the number of turns of the spring that do not touch anything. Any part of the coil which makes contact with anything becomes inactive, that is it no longer functions as part of the spring.

The mean diameter is the inside coil diameter plus one wire thickness. Or the outside coil diameter less one wire thickness.

cool, looks like I need them in my hand before I do anything, but i'll probably just build an adjustable upper coil mount to dial in ride height, and chop coils off until im happy with the stiffness instead lol.

I think coil towers would be pretty cake to make on a thick frame. and I have all the room on the planet compared to an xj/mj.

Sweet deal.

Just trying to save you from redoing stuff twice. At this point you already have all winter to do stuff before any big events happen.

7100s are cool for wheeling, junk for go-fast on a rig as heavy as yours.

Should be cake. Bumpstops like an XJ or somewhere else?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'd honestly love to get rid of my Profenders to someone, but it's going to be a hard sale without fixing the broken one.

I might just have to suck it up and try to order a new shaft for it and see how it goes.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I has air bumps. We will see where everything falls once I'm actually doing it

Get ready to pay 150% of MSRP.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm getting Rich's 14" coilovers at rocktoberfest :D

No idea what I'm gonna do with them yet. Probably use them when I link the rear of black jeep someday.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I didn't even post any garage pictures. :firedevil

yea yea...

i'm gonna start seriously looking this time next year, should have enough $$ saved up and tarah and i will both have a year into our jobs, so we can figure out if we wanna stay here or move. the biggest incentive i have to stay here is tarah's access to first time homebuyer grants through her job... up to $31,000. makes affording a place here much easier.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm ****ed when I buy a house. I need a garage bigger than a two bay right off the bat, just to be able to move in.

I hear you. A 36'x30' and both of us still park outside.

Doing the Clayton rear link was the best thing I ever did to my 98 (until recently)...the ride, flex, and traction were just silly. You would have thought you were in a Town Car with tube doors. I kid you not.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

selling my spare heads on the internets. someone agrees to pay $120 shipped. comes back and says "how about $80 shipped?"

That would mean $20 per loaded aluminum head in my pocket.

I'd rather play baseball, practice welding aluminum together, or bury them in my backyard for that price.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yea. im deleting the ad, sick of dealing with retards anyway. had about 6 people say they were gonna buy them, get all serious, then drop off the face of the planet
