THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

God damn it feels so nice to drive something I like to work for once. Having half a sack under the hood is a pleasant change too. No more flooring and praying when merging onto the highway. If I want the pass window down I hit a button, not wait till a red light to reach across and crank it down.

You've never driven a real truck if you think the 4.8 has balls lol

My new service van has the 4.8, it barely moves with van empty, full I have to open the door and push with my foot to make hills. My old van had the 6.0 and that thing would throw your head back.

The 4.8 isn't any hot rod, but it's night and day over a 1.7 sohc. Feels pretty similar, or better than driving the XJ. I'll throw an exhaust, intake, and tuner thingy on it and be happy as a clam. I don't need much.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I wish my truck had a power rear slider.

That and power/heated mirrors.

And an exhaust brake.

But I don't feel like buying any of those.

I've found a couple of brakes for sale for short money.....

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Rockauto has a set for $230 but who knows who makes them.
is the wiring already there to support it or would you have to hack something together to get it to work

but i do like like heated, power adjusting, and power extending tow mirrors

as i have not been on in about a few or so when is everyone heading up to F&F this weekend

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Since mine is a Laramie, supposedly the wiring is already there.

Would just have to get the correct HVAC panel with the mirror defrost button, and a power window switch and it would look factory.

Pat and Billy and possibly myself are headed up Friday night, not sure about anyone else.

Are you bringing the Jeep?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I replaced both of my mirrors with the heated/powered/flip up ones from RockAuto, they're fine.

That being said, I rarely ever flip them up for towing. Don't really see a need to.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I could tow fine with them either way. I have them so I use them. That and the glass doesn't shake out of alignment when they're up

They say "Various MFRs" for the mirrors though and not all parts are created equally. I might give them a shot over the winter.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Usually I don't even think about it until I'm already on the road, and it's definitely not worth stopping to flip them up.

The glass mounting is maybe not as rigid as OEM ones but I've had them on for a few years now with no problems.
