THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

They were buying no-name ones - and their part numbers were for reg cab sized ones, not extended cab. Apparently they're different. Also, they only listed two, rather than all three, and the one they forgot to put on the list was the one with the worst rust/wear problems. It's just a shitty shop.

What kind of issues? CEL from the converters not being efficient enough? Fitup?

The cats aren't efficient enough. Sometimes it will throw a code, but usually it just never resets the monitors causing a emissions failure.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Spencer's a great little car. Apparently something in the transmission is bent and causing the slaves to fail. Some BS like that. So I get to pony up more cashola and buy a transmission, and not get it back for another day or three. Pretty exciting stuff...

It doesn't matter where you are, if you're inside 495 theres gunna be traffic. It doesn't really matter which one youre on or which direction youre going. Ive sat in traffic on pretty much every road in this state now I think.

I bet I know a way around this.

External slave or internal slave? If it is an external slave I would bet on a bent clutch fork, else... I don't see how it would run with anything bent, except maybe pressure plate tines?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

no idea. for all i know i'm just getting hosed by the shop. but for $300 for a jy trans, I don't give enough of a damn at this point to look into it if that would mean not getting my car back this week. Might tell them I want the old trans back to try and look at it. At least I'll have them show me wtf is wrong with it when I go to pick it up.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sick bent high steer arm.

Full functional guide pin/bolt

HOLY ****ING SHIT DUDE YOU ARE SO ****ING BADASS CAN I ****ING BLOW YOU OR SOMETHING???

Your drive will get so much better if you just nut up and run over Pat going the other way one of these days.

**** that, if it's XJ vs Ram 2500, an XJ will win every time. It's just physics and shit.

I'm about to go sweat my balls off in the garage so I can wheel this weekend. Sometimes I really wonder if this sport makes you insane, or it just attracts the mentally unstable.

Only retards do what we do. I spent yesterday wetter then a pool putting my steering back together.

I'm pretty sure it does both.

I am going back to the junkyard tomorrow because an explorer crapped all over me today. And I never even got as far as pulling any of the other shit I wanted. Just spent an hour sweating my sack off while lifting an explorer up with a high lift, then having the high lift tip over, again and again. I was madder than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest.

Speaking of which, anyone want a fullfloat D60-1SU with discs? There's one there right now, no idea what ratio, probably 3.55 or 4.10, I'm way too lazy to pull it alone and don't care enough to try and flip it for money but if someone wants it, show up and help me pull it and it's yours.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just downloaded GTA vice city for meh phone. Went over my data limit doing so oops

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That gets expensive quickly on Verizon :(

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh yeah. I got a Harbor Freight 3/4" quick release breaker bar and a 3/4 to 1/2 drive adapter because I am really getting tired of breaking 1/2" breaker bars.

Bets on what will break first? I think it'll be the 3/4 to 1/2 drive adapter.

How do you keep breaking these?

Two hands. Tried to undo a dodge 1500 d44 unit bearing bolt and started out by shearing off two 1/2 to 3/8 drive adapters, then borrowed a 1/2 drive 12 point socket and broke the breaker bar in half next.

The older Husky breaker bars (the ones with the knurled handgrip section) were pretty tough, but I broke the two I had a few weeks ago. The newer round smooth handle ones are worthless, I break them the first time I try and use them, with no cheater pipe.

Not really surprised about the adapters breaking.

Have you tried Craftsman? I've had an 18" bar for a while without issues, and have occassionally gone full retard strength with it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I haven't... I figured I'd try HF next since they're cheaper, especially for a 3/4". I've got a couple 3/4 drive sockets (d60 pinion nut/XJ pitman arm nut are 1 5/16", 5 ton lug nuts are 1 1/2") at this point so I figured I should probably just nut up and get the right tools for once.

90XJay has a 25" HF breaker bar - we tried using it to take a rusty 8.25 pinion nut off once. 4 foot pipe only resulted in it deflecting 30 degrees but springing right back. 4 foot pipe, duct taping the socket to the yoke, bracing the pipe on the ground and doing FWD burnouts in Bradley's driveway did absolutely nothing to the nut or the breaker bar.

I wasn't being nice to it when it was flexing, either - I was really hauling on the pipe.
