THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have at least one spare of everything, possibly as much as two or three in some cases, mostly thanks to Chris.

Post up or text me pics of what you're looking for (or pics of where it goes, if you don't have a way to get a pic of the part) and I'll see what I can find. Is the detent setup for the 241 that same sort of hex plug that screws into the bottom of the case with a ball and spring inside it?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Here's some pics of Sam's 241.

And my old setup is on top, the one from his 241 is on bottom (obviously missing the spring/plunger). Uses a smaller plug (3/8 OD vs 5/8) and a smaller spring/plunger. Probably around 1/4-5/16 OD vs 3/8 OD of my old setup.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just pulled one out of an old np231 half I had sitting on the floor for mockup purposes... thread OD .623", guessing it's the same 5/8-18UNF thread as various others I've pulled apart. I'll check the tcase in the basement and the one Chris gave me next. Both are 21 spline YJ cases, this was either an early 90s ZJ case or a late 90s XJ case, I forget.

That other plug looks like 1/2-13UNC to me, any idea what the ID of the socket for the spring/plunger is?

It's probably 1/2-13.

The ID of the socket was .310-.312 aka 5/16. It was a little dirty.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Colin, all my NP231 shit is the same 5/8 thread. I dunno wtf dumbass chevy did. I'll keep an eye out next time I'm at the yard.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If you were already planning on going to the JY that would be cool if you could find one.

I'm guessing it's out of an earlier Chevy, since all the late-model NP cases I've seen use the larger 5/8 plug.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's my guess as well, or NP standardized everything at some point. What model/year/engine donor is that case from? Should narrow things down a bit. Else I'll just crawl under every chevy I see until I find one. Are the hex heads different sizes? That would make it really easy to tell which is the right one before pulling it.

Not sure what it's out of.

I do know that the larger ones use a 7/8" socket, and it's definitely smaller than that. I think 11/16".

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Find a cheap foxbody and just build the 5.0 in it. Mine was doing 11.44@119 19 years ago. With technology it should be cheaper and easier to go faster. I beat the hell out of mine and just had to rebuild the tranny, new clutch, and modify the rear suspension since I ripped a factory control arm mount of the unibody (went with a Griggs racing setup). It hooks like mad and handles great.. haven't had a front swaybar on it in 14 years:)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Also Pat, grab your stupid helmet and come racing with me since Carmelo is a bitch.

When, the 19-21st? If so no way duder, I'm wheeling F&F that weekend.

Fox body?

I would sell everything I own for another notch, only get a decent one this time...

id rock the shit out of a LS1 fox body

YOU SHUT YOUR ****ING MOUTH ROBBIE RACECAR, IF YOU DID THAT I WOULD BORROW DAN'S DICK AND SLAP YOU TO DEATH WITH IT.
