THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

As soon as you bring over all the parts :D

Probably not but we'll see. Everything's ready to go, just waiting on new block off plates and a DOM bushing to make a new mount there.

I have to chop the new 241, weld in the block off plates, and reassemble it all. Then weld in a new mount. I have the 4th off and Friday off as well.
if the bolts for my wheels showup before the deadline ill prob commit both days if not then ill prob be staying home

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's badass Pat. Any video?

I dropped my t-cases today. The 241 was basically not even attached to the NV4500. All the bolt bosses were stripped/cracked off.

And the 241 Sam gave me is missing the detent hardware and it's different from my 241. Lame.

holy balls? you think only 5 studs holding it on had anything to do with it?

missing detent hardware? as in someone was in there and was like "ill take this"?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sounds like Chevy is your best bet. I still think you should buy.

were gonna revisit this around the end of next month. she cant make a descision this soon.

The big thing that dealership offers us is they will buy out the lease and get rid of the $2800 of extra miles as opposed to her paying out of pocket (an extra $77 a month for 36 months)

not going back to hyundai because the salesman was a dick anyway. The accent is nothing special as well (duh, but it makes the cruze look badass in comparison)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yup. Completely missing. So annoying. Not sure how I'm gonna track that down.

It's because of my shitty mount. It just bent so it put pressure on the front of the 241.

sorry dude, had no idea. would np231 stuff work maybe?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Not your fault. I'm sure it would if I could figure out what style works. My 241 used a plug that has like 5/8 threads. This one has a much smaller plug that uses something like 3/8 threads.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I remember those days. :D Bought a couple non-ferrous cutoff wheels and got pretty good at re-using blockoff plates. I would just cut the 231 housing on a regular tablesaw with a wood blade; nice straight & fast cut.

Take some pictures of the detent stuff you need, I'll see if I have any comparable stuff in my 231 pile (that I didn't already give to Ken).

I test drove a 6spd elantra... It was actually really nice. I wasn't ready to get myself into a reliable 4 door sedan tho lol. If I had to go back and buy a car, out of everything I test drove I would have bought that. Never tried the cruze idk why.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I almost got taken out by a Cruze body shell getting carried through the assembly line at GM Lordstown, OH. Good thing they put a big E-stop button on the front of the carriages.

After watching more of those Roadkill episodes I kinda want a V8 Monza. Which was also built at the Lordstown, OH plant.

new? i test drive one with 90k on it, everything was garbage, blue jeep at the end of its life drove better

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

2012 ya. If you're talking about one from the 90s or early 2000s ... Yea they were piles of shit.
wanna say it was 05 or 06, sloppy steering every shift the syncros felt wicked gross ect.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

im so ****ing jelous, did thet let you beat on it or did you have to baby it?

That's badass Pat. Any video?

They don't let you use the paddle shifters, but they encourage you to push yourself/the car. I had it squealing and loose in a few of the corners, it was ****ing sick. It honestly makes me want to buy/build a cheap RWD/5spd car to take to a track, it was a much bigger adrenaline rush than wheeling.

And no video, my dad came with me and he could barely figure out how to take pictures so I didn't bother trying to teach him how to record a video. I bet his commentary while the camera pointed everywhere it shouldn't have would have been hilarious though.

elantra is too much bank

stop wheeling like a pansy

And if I ended up with it, I'll do the same. Or equivalently, if it's something easy to pull without pulling the whole box out of the truck and there's one at Sam's. The junkyard that is, not the guy you got it from :gee:

That.

But road course racing has nothin on offroad racing. Probably not a can o worms you really wanna get into though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'll get you a pic Chris. I've never gone road racing but offroad racing kicks dick.
Between king of the underground (not even really racing) and one of the silly little dirt roads I found by my house I couldn't agree more.

The road by my house might have something to do with why it only took me a couple thousand miles to completely wear out that set of brand new balljoints I installed last year at NACFest, now that I think about it... :dunce:

(Pat/Billy have seen it too at this point, it's where you guys pulled me out of the ice after that GG run... now picture my MJ doing 50-65 on most stretches of that)

Also, I have Stefans D60 locker for you Ken. Let me know when you want to meet up.
Thanks a ton for picking it up for me. I will see when I can get out your direction.
