Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so I blew up the switch om my welder again. It must act as a fuse and burns out when the welder is pushed too hard.

I cant afford the 2 week down time that's going to come with warranting a new switch. so Im going to go pick up a new/bigger welder.

I saw a pretty good hobart at tractor supply thats 110/220 for about 800$. I think Im going to pick up that.

i love my Hobart 140, check em out online sometimes you can get great deals with free shipping to the store

turns out the welder just blew the circuit breaker which is weird because I wasn't welding at the time.

so no new welder for me. which I guess is good, I didnt want to spend the money, but part of me was looking forward to having something that can weld 5/16 in a single pass.

I got the Handler 180, it's 220V only, but I like it. It hasn't given me any trouble and burns 1/4" with ease on setting 5 out of 6.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I like having the option for pluging into 110. just in case 220 is not available.

x2

had the miller 210mvp been available when I bought mine, I woulda gotten that instead.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So we went from little to no snow accumulation to this:

Friday: Snow. Sleet in the afternoon. Snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches. Highs in the lower 30s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.

Not much, but damn, it's April. I want green sprouts and peepers not snow.

What are you trying to get at?
I wouldn't reuse the stub/hub if you can't get the nut off. That could be a major PIA on the trail.

I should rephrase that
It's a 260 joint so should I just say screw the unit bearing and torch the nut or should I pull the entire hub off and keep that as a spare?

I guess it depends how much you want to carry. If you break a shaft it's one less thing to change if the hub is still on the stub, but then you're stuck carrying the hub too. I've never seen a hub catastrophically fail on the trail, FWIW. Is the hub still in decent condition?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've also always wanted Rod Hall's Dodge.

The hubs in good shape so that's why I'm wondering

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Left my sunroof open last night. Hooray wet butts.

And as I was typing a huge jacked up dodge 1500 was just towing a trailer full of enormous logs. He was at about 3000 rpms while taking off from a stop, something was obviously slipping and the tongue weight was so much I thought the front wheels were going to lift off the ground.

Guess I should taken a photo instead of staring.
