Sad part is I really have to agree with all the weight of the cage and plating.
Atleast over the front axle I should say. But this is just me thinking off the top of my head.

Are you talking about that cut up axle?
It isn't the tubes bend that is the problem. It is that tube "disconnecting" from the housing that is the issue.

I have been wheeling reasonably frequently for two years and I'm not sure I am really ready to start a one ton build.

I'm not really the person to be saying this, seeing as I wheel like an idiot when I get stressed out (which happens quickly after I make a couple dumb mistakes) but you should really get some more seat time and push your rig with what you have before building a ridiculous jeep. You'll never learn tire placement, choosing your line, how much throttle you need for something, etc if you go big before pushing yourself.

Also, as much as it pains me to say this, I agree with Ken. Don't overbuild your Jeep because it's 'cool'. Big Jeeps that don't get wheeled are gay, little, cheap Jeeps that get used are badass. The opposite is also true.

My dads 68 vette getting a major slap in the face and turning evil. Very evil.
My dad is doing a rebuild on the current 327. Then on the stand its getting a TB 383 stroker with dual T3T4s.
That will most likely be my death.
