THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have yet to hear of one blow up. Don't doubt it, but maybe you had a different one. HF makes nothing, so you're essentially looking at like an infinite amount of different manufacturer of any given product they have. Just for socket sets you can buy like 5 different sets, each one a different "brand". Some are shit, some are awesome.

Harbor freight, tried getting the backing plate nut off an 8.25 and the 13mm socket burst at every of the six points, it was pretty sweet, and the whole 52 piece set was only 7.99, this is my third replacement set

I got a piece of that I believe. That sawzall didn't do jack shit

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I never knew air-actuated freespools existed for winches.

I wish they made one for an M8000. It would be next on my wish list.

Its all we have on our heavy wreckers at work.
look into whatever the hydraulic equipment to a M8000 is and it should be available.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ive never had a issue with the crafsman sockets i bouhgt 3-4 years ago, large cheater bars, lots of hammering, u joint installs ect, i vave broken a couple of there fancy rachets though

Same here, I use almost all Craftsman sockets/wrenches everyday at work, but I use almost strictly Snap-On ratchets, both at home and work. I've busted too many knuckles when a Craftsman ratchet let go to ever go back.

As far as the bumper Kenneth, I was going to brace it back from the corner, but I just jacked the Jeep up off of the corner tonight and it didn't move, so I said FIRI. And I would never run that bearing, that was pure sarcasm haha.

Tequila doesn't make me want to **** or fight it makes me really sleepy.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Same here. Snap on ratchets are well worth the money if you use them more than once a week.

I think you're going to bend them back, not up, but it'll be amusing to watch you bash it into things either way. :gee:

Yeah, I nearly ate shit when a craftsman 1/2 ratchet let loose on me a week or two ago helping a friend do shackles on his XJ. I'm tired of that.

I'm a little curious about the whole "Kenneth" thing, you and squashman are literally the only people who ever call me that. I usually prefer Ken, since I barely ever go by my full name I sometimes don't even realize someone's trying to get my attention if they use it.

I bent a snap on breaker bar doing my control arms took a pipe
My 240 lb self jumping on it to bend it but I still works fine

Iv read that the best way to keep that from happening is as soon as you buy them open them up clean them out with Ken's cooking juice(brake cleen) and grease them up with real grease. I did that with a 20+ year old SK that was slipping like mad and now it feels brand new. ive been too lazy to do it with the craftsmans.

I'm going to try not to bash this one into shit, but we'll see about that...

And I don't know why I call you Kenneth, or if it was me or Dave that started it, but it makes me giggle, so get used to it Kenneth.

I have a hard time believing that, as I've broken off multiple 1/2" drive Snap-On breaker bars before bending any of them, usually right at the base of the drive. Unless you slid the pipe way towards the far end of the handle like an idiot...

that where I put my pipes. more leverage brah

but that only when I use a short 1.5' cheater bar.

Definitely more leverage, but much easier to bend the tool. Just get a longer pipe if you need more leverage and choke it up braj.

Or use something you dont have to rebuild out of the box. I am more than willing to do a heads up torture test. Your craftsman 1/2 drive vs my snap on 1/4 drive.

But to be fair, Pat and I use our tools to make a living. They see the same abuse before Lunch every day that the average persons tools see in a month. We can justify a $120new 1/4 drive ratche, most people would be crazy to do that.

exactly. I would love! to own snap on tools. but I could never justify that kind of money.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

But enough about that, on to the next topic, I need new boots. 1 1/2 years and my Chippewas are finally on their last leg

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If I get snapon/other professional grade, it'll be by buying it used at a used tool shop I frequent in Worcester, then using it till it breaks (if ever) and exchanging it for a new one from Snapon. I'm not sure if the warranty is transferable or if they'd give me crap about that, so that may not even work.

edit: it's like you read my mind. I was going to say something earlier today about my timpros kicking the bucket (the right toe is completely blown out now after around a year) but I figured the reaction would be  BOOT CHAT AGAIN?

Haven't decided what I'm getting next.
