THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yay. sold all my tbi stuff.

anybody know anything about making fuel lines with AN ends?

I think I have it all down, I wanna run hard line along the chassis and stainless braided where it needs to flex (motor to chassis, and chassis to fuel tank) doing stainless incase sometimes down the road I wanna race (heard some organizations require that over rubber)

My only issues are finding adapters to convert my -8 AN fuel cell fittings to -6 AN. and its more expensive than I want, but whatevs. I have to do a fuel return line too.

Just go to Summit Racing and spec it all out.

They definitely make -8AN to -6AN hose ends, not specialty fittings or anything.

I thought I saved money by using hose clamps and rubber FI-rated hose. Didn't really save that much money since with the 6-pack setup I have to use AN fittings anyway to plumb them all together.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Are you god damming the funny camber on the rig in the background or the fact that the tube is going to pull out of the housing during its first run?

edit: This is his truss that he's hoping to have hold the whole thing together  Oh well, we all start somewhere.

thats what I was trying to do last night lol.

I'm not so sure hose and barbs would work. 60 psi is quite a bit.

I know 91-95 jeeps use fi hose and barbs at 49 psi or so. makes me think anyway.

I just don't want any issues.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my fuel line on my 96 was 90% rubber line and hose clamps and they never burst, the PSI is marked on the line itself

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i think i'll make the return line out of cheap stuff. not sure ai wanna skimp on the feed too much.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Rated FI hose has some ridiculous burst pressure. 900psi burst pressure iirc, with a service pressure of 100psi. I burst some once but it's because I was a dumbass and sliced up the inner layer of rubber trying to jam it onto a fuel filter barb that was too big so the fuel got between the layers, then burst the outer layer.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

lol any one read this part after the pic with the huge chunk taken out of the housing

"still needa cut more out for the lca mount but I don't wanna cut too much off the housing."

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I know the bursting pressure is high enough. Its the hose clamps into barb fittings id be more worried about. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Might be fine, but I just don't want any issues down the road.

How cheap can tons be done? Without being shit.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Holy poop and I told him to not cut a lot when he asked me about mines months ago. And for some reason the dudes rig in the background has the extra camber knuckles from the factory and he decided to keep them on
That's actually a thing? Why is that a thing? That should not be a thing.

All of that stuff can be made with a $80 flux core welder for free.

Theres nothing wrong with cutting that much off!! :gee:

Extra camber knuckles? Yeah right, wanna buy a bridge I got for sale too? Its not uncommon for 60's in jeeps to gain extra camber like that, the axles were designed to have twice the wieght on top of them which would equal out the camber. Hell, mine had camber shims in it and even with them removed I still have a little too much positive camber. No big dea.

If you have to ask, you cant afford it.

I have been wheeling reasonably frequently for two years and I'm not sure I am really ready to start a one ton build.

I'm not really the person to be saying this, seeing as I wheel like an idiot when I get stressed out (which happens quickly after I make a couple dumb mistakes) but you should really get some more seat time and push your rig with what you have before building a ridiculous jeep. You'll never learn tire placement, choosing your line, how much throttle you need for something, etc if you go big before pushing yourself.

SHUT UP PAT I KNOW I CAN'T DRIVE EITHER

edit:
Ross, wait, more weight on an axle makes the camber change?

I was told they were a thing. My front end was like that until I put the Reids on
