THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I will move my grill away from my truck/ the barrels this year. I can honestly say that incedent may not have happened if i had done that.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm 100% with Bill on this.

I plan on camping with everyone at the campground and getting drunk but not being obnoxious. It's not hard.

I don't want to lose our ability to stay at the place and its not that big of a deal. We can all still get hammered and have fun, just not piss anyone off.
agreed... even though I was one of the troublemakers, again, this year.

I've been going for 3 years and it's not just one person, it's generally a group. I have been both in that group and not in it. In any case, every time the campground loses patience with us is another step closer to NACFest simply not happening.

THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm trying to save the naxja name by not going to these rowdy bangers and associating myself with you immature wiener touchers. .!.:D.!.

I plan on getting drunk then disappearing into my tent and not telling anyone I'm going to bed when I'm tired

That's what I do at fall crawl every year. Then my d rings are stolen and thrown at Rob while he sleeps.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Pat,
You too are taking this a bit far.

Let me get this very clear. I want everyone to stay at twin grove an have a good time. I don't want all these separate little gatherings that is not what this event is for and never will be.

I/we made the choice to post it up as a blanket statement because it isn't, and wasn't, just you. I didn't want to single anyone out and make them feel unwelcome. Frankly if we did just talk to the handful of people that doesn't stop the guy that is new and doesn't understand. By making the statement general it comes everyone and all bases.

Again, I don't want to see anyone go off to a different site. Come hang out with the group and have a good time. Pat, your first gluten free beverage is on me!

Do you folks honestly think I am trying to be a jerk or a prick here? Look at it from my point of view.

I'm not trying to take it too far, I'm trying to prevent any problems from happening. When I drink, I tend to drink too much and get rowdy, that's just how I am. Not saying that's a good thing, to be honest it's probably a problem that I don't have an 'off' switch once I start. I also don't think it was just myself that was over the top last year, nor do I think anyone should be singled out. If it had been my situation to handle, I would have sent PM's out last year after the event to the people who were out of hand, explaining it was a family event, and we needed to tone it down. I agree a blanket statement needs to be made to cover everyone involved, but it should have been handled with the individuals involved in the examples you listed first, IMO.

I don't think you, or the BOD, are being jerks at all. I fully understand that the club name, reputation, and privilege to stay at Twin Grove is on the line, that's why I will most likely stay somewhere else. I don't mean to kick up a stink, or try to get others to leave the group, I just don't want to be involved in, or the cause of, any issues. Who knows, maybe by June I'll have given up drinking and started acting like an adult, but I doubt it.

This is exactly all we were trying to get put together in the first place. If there was one night, probably friday, that we had to get off Twin Grove we could. Friday was the only night that was loud when I went. Saturday was silent. But that set Bill of on a tangent of "blanket" warnings. Which followed with me getting pissed. I'd have a hard time staying mad at Bill for long but if I were to paraphrase his first two posts towards us it would be "If you're not going to wheel and can't stay quiet, don't go."

So, last year, as far as I understood we could have been loud. Until last minute we heard people would be occupying those cabins. So I thought, hey, if we occupied them this year we'd be all set. Won't work? That's okay, but the intentions were good.

Now every subsequent posts I see is "It's easy to be quiet, if you can't be quiet don't go." I think any misunderstanding is not on our part, but the rest of you. All I see is a bunch of us, who before you even said anything, knew we had to tone it down getting a lecture about how we need to tone it down. That makes me feel like shit. Any posts about being "rowdy", which is ridiculously being used a serious word, had nothing but the best intentions of either making it something we didn't have to worry about, or taking it somewhere else entirely.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so much drama.

pat you were well behaved at rocktober.

on a side note does anyone else find it strange that if you get poop on any part of your body you wash it off with soap and water. but you get poop on your butt hole all the time and just wipe it off with a dry paper towel?

idk just something I thought of today after I took the stickiest crap ever.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Maybe I missed the comment that set you guys off, but I'm missing the point of the arguing.

I think that there needs to be some kind of loose guideline set in place- IE: if you're planning on showing up with a couple of cases, go somewhere else. People get noisy as they get drunk- if that falls under rowdy, then again, maybe that group needs to be somewhere else.

I will fully admit to not being behaved well at points last year and I see where Carmelo is going with this. He wants to avoid a situation before it has the chance to unfold, which I fully agree with. I would still like to be able to participate in the wheeling, dinner, etc, but am willing to sacrifice location or make adjustments to where I stay to keep everyone happy.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I get affectionate when i get hammered...

So far that hasnt caused us to find a new host...

I'll hug the rowdy outta anyone who's deemed loud.

I'm not pissed off, and I'm not arguing, I'm just saying that if we aren't supposed to get loud and buckwild at Twin Grove, then the people who want to do that should consider staying somewhere else. To me, that's the message the BOD was sending, so there really shouldn't be any need to take it further.

I'm going Long Island sand hill wheeling today.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Point is, there is nothing to argue to about. Bill has already changed anything that originally pissed me off. I'll even admit I wasn't all that offended to begin with. I will say, what does piss me off is some simple wording. Some of you, like to put it "be quiet or stay home" others like to say "come, just be quiet". It's basically the same thing, except when you make the comment right after people talking about planning to be loud a possibility, one wording can be taken the wrong way. I think being loud or rowdy is completely acceptable(obviously), but it has it's place. A place for it is all anyone was trying to find.

It makes sense to even target the handful of us that are typically louder than others. Except, if it's in such a way that you give anyone even the slightest hint that you don't want them to go. I consider everybody on here a friend. So it's not even just that I took it that way, but I really think any of us from the "you know who you are" group could have taken it the same way. I think a simple change of how some people word things is all that we need. We don't need to be scolded into staying home, just tell us to shut the **** up.

So, if anyone missed it, or doesn't get why I was upset I'll lay it out simple.
Not upset we have to be quiet
Just want everyone to feel equally welcome to come

That's it, like I said, I think any misunderstanding is not from me. I jumped down Bill's throat about it and I think everyone just automatically chose to see that I was arguing with him about being quiet. He quickly changed it, so that wasn't what I argued about for so long. In backing up Bill everyone chose to do the same thing I got mad at Bill for. Which is give me the hint that "I think you'll be loud so just stay home." If someone stays home from a comment like that I will be pissed.

Get it?
