Only in Colinland

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Only for me.

My fuel pressure gauge is buzzing on my truck. So annoying.

Probably junk. Going to call ISSPro today and see if they can fix it/warranty it or something.

Not sure what I'll do otherwise. That was a $140 gauge 2 years ago.

superglue the needle in the position you want it, problem solved

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I might dick with it this weekend.

My exhaust showed up last night and I'm debating throwing a coat of that high temp paint I have on it. Same shit I used on my MJ.

That's cooler than what I got last night. Some tre's for herman, couple gaskets for the jeep, and u joint ubolts. Waiting for brakes and tierod sleeves to show up tomorrow night and then I'll probably do it all after work on friday. yippie!

 same here buddy

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Spent the last 8 days DD'ing the blue XJ, over 1200 miles and no problems at all, including the longest trip I've had it on yet (~180 miles round trip down to the LII shop on Sunday).

It's just ****ing annoying to have to put gas in the damn thing in $20-$30 increments though. That's a safe 90-120 miles between stops. I know it doesn't cost any more, and honestly it still costs less overall than anything else I own, but it just feels more expensive having to do it that way. I'll probably address that at some point soon...

Drove the Dodge today though and it still feels like it's at that 90% performance mark...gonna run this tank out and fill it with fresh fuel and maybe do the fuel filter tonight if the weather's OK. Still got a nagging suspicion that the fuel pump has turned into a time bomb but it still sounds OK and tests alright for now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What's wrong with the gas tank? I can't remember. Just leaking?

Dump in some of that Diesel 911 performance crap or whatever it is. I used to put it in my truck every other full tank of fuel.

Ground wire on the factory fuel pump corroded through, swapped in the one from my ol' XJ, ****ed up the sender/gauge combo (I knew this would happen though), but it leaks from where the hard formed lines come through the mounting face of the pump assembly.

If the gauge travel was a bit more linear (or actually corresponded to the level of fuel in the tank, albeit in reverse) I'd feel more comfortable driving it farther. But from the point at which it quits leaking to where the gauge is pegged past 'full' and stops being useful is roughly 100 miles.

I suppose I could sit under it and watch as fuel is added slowly to know exactly how much it'll hold before starting to leak, and figure out how much is left when the gauge passes my comfort zone, but with that much effort I could probably just change the fuel pump and be done with it.

I also have a good complete tank from a '95 I could use. Can I just swap the gauge from the '95 into my '88 cluster if I wanted to go that route? I don't know shit about Jeeps.

I sold some tires and got some sweet shocks last night, now its time to save up for new tires and new bolts for the stazies and maybee some funky fresh paint
