THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ross, how much are they (text or PM) and how many could you possibly get?

I gotta ask my Mom. This game may be a little tougher to get for obvious reasons. It also depends on how many they sell and whats left over. Towards the end of the week I can get a better idea.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Small milestone for me at work today. Got to take the crane out and do 2 jobs all by myself, no boss to watch over me. I gotta get the ball rolling on my CDL lincense now too so I can keep doing it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

How much you wanna spend? I might be able to get you some for a little over face value. My Mom works at the hotel at patriot place. They get tickets to re-sell for packages they offer. I might be able to make something happen for you.

What Mark said, keep me in mind I'll figure out what I wanna spend when I see what there going for i guess

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The "!" sign is also a relatively modern addition to typewriters. On older typewriters where space was at a premium, you used to have to type a period ".", backspace, and then type an apostrophe " ' ".

Since Scott isn't the only one who's bored, here's some more typewriter knowledge.

The QWERTY arrangement was not developed to slow typing speeds down. It was actually the result of many evolutions of letter placements with the intention of minimizing mechanical jams from the 'typebars' hitting each other. So common letter pairs are for the most part distributed away from each other.

Two other byproducts of this layout: the words "TYPE WRITER" are spelled using only the top row, which was said to be a marketing tool (the first mechanical typewriter was sold under the brand of "TYPE WRITER"). Also, one early arrangement shifted all the vowels to the top row, and left the consonants in alphabetical order on the bottom two rows. Part of this can still be seen on the home row with the sequence "DFGHJKL".

For you Bostonites...the Bukowski Tavern at Inman Square has a mural of a typewriter on the wall, in which the Z and C keys are switched. I haven't been able to figure out yet if this was just a mistake in the mural, or if it's something actually relating to Bukowski. Sadly this was the second thing I noticed when I walked in there...just after noticing that they were featuring a tapped cask of Wachusett IPA that night.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

On the plus side of being bored... cleaned the bathroom a bit, cleaned the desk a bit (only enough to clear space for guns), cleaned my guns (particularly the .22, gave it a much more thorough cleaning than I did after my last day at the range), did tons of laundry I've been putting off, and played some skyrim for the first time in over a month.

Now to go make bacon wrapped hot dogs and fried avocado.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If you try to mount it where the stock one was, it hits the coil. I'm going to try to tack it in place further forward, but I'll probably have to make my own.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So tack it on place further forward. I'm failing to see the problem. No one says it HAS to be in the stock location.
:D

I only stopped working on it today because I had to fix the heat in my house. My sister was bitching saying it was cold. Upstairs had no heat at all :laugh3:
