eh, yeah, I should probably just spend that $700 on stereo equipment or exhaust/engine/suspension stuff rather than brakes for now.

Hopefuly I can find a deal like this again later on down the road.

And Ken... yeah I can do a disk brake upgrade on an XJ for that kind of money too. You're comparing apples to oranges.

Just talked to the shop about the extra work that needs to be done on the Mustang for the problems we are still trying to chase down. They are going to try and get a new axle for it as planned along with a steering rack.

Assuming the insurance company approves a replacement axle (they should, mine seems to have a bent tube/flange) the guy at the shop is going to call me with the price that the insurance company quoted for a replacement axle and I'm going aftermarket shopping :thumbup:

Looking at a brand new GT500 rear axle w/ 3.73s (my stock gears are 3.55s). Going to be sweet and I can probably get it for pretty damn cheap too. Used axles seem to cost around $900-$1000. Assuming I get around $800 from insurance company I'll be able to pick up a 3.73 geared 31-spline 8.8 w/ tracklock for $400-$500 out of pocket.

XXXX yeah.

shit. I was going to start dropping my tranny tonight but just remembered I need the Jeep to pick the new transmission up tomorrow. Guess I'll work on finishing up my seat wiring and the seat frames. :dunno:

Everything is blowing up and catching fire and not working here at my office, but none of it is my fault, none of it is things I can fix without more info from my boss, and none of it has gotten me yelled at so far. So I'm pretty :dunno: about the whole thing.

This job really has taught me to stay calm during disasters, I gotta say. It just doesn't matter anymore :looney:

edit: my mcmaster order just got here. I am now holding a brand new piece of 3.5" OD 1/2" wall DOM. Shit is XXXXing serious.

Someone at work thought it would be funny to light off an airbag while I was under a propane truck welding a crack on the axle housing. I need to come up with something big for payback.

i brought in shitty boots and jeans to work one day and made feet and legs with some 2x4's and put them in the shitter. Had the legs taking a dump for 3 hours. Then someone finally caught on. It was pretty funny.
